electric lift pump for 12v?

LUBEGARD Power Steering Fluid Protectant

hey gang, I scored a 5. 9B rod and piston today... picked them up cheap as a conversation piece. something to wave in the face of my powerhoax driving buddies ;)

anyhow, the piston looks different from all the truck pistons I've seen which had the "mexican hat" directly in the center... this piston has an offcenter hat and it also has very shallow valve reliefs in it.

I seem to remember seeing these pistons in pics of a member's engine buildup, but they were just listed as "custom pistons". The piston I've got is clearly OEM Cummins.

just wondering if this was a standard piston for all marine 5. 9's or just later ones or what... they had a number of rebuildable core engines there, and I'm thinking about buying one and building it up on the side.

hmm... this thing must not be from a B series after all... there was a cylinder liner stuck to the piston... just learned that the B's don't use liners. maybe it's from a C series?

I THOUGHT that rod/piston looked pretty dang big! LOL!

cool conversation piece, but I wanted one from a B! :(

Do you have any information on rebuildable cores for a 95 2500 auto. Mine is developing more leaks than the titanic. I may just build one on the side and stick it in when I am finished.

Thanks,

Jeff

interesting... I must have been looking at 24v shortlbocks and didn't realize it...

makes sense to me now as the injectors are offset in the head (duh!)

what about the valve reliefs? is that a standard deal too?

thanks,
