a friend of mine owns a boat with a "210 cummins". he has a pump made by lucas i believe. who is lucas? is this the same pump that you guys have on the 1st gen trucks?... ... .

another friend has a boat with a cummins and his lucas pump solenoid gave out while he was in the middle of lake okochobee. nice and sloppy when he had to have it towed in... ... . he's had this happen twice now.

anyone know anything about the marine version?

thanks. scott.

I have seen Lucas pumps on Perkins engines. They have performed pretty well for the guys I work for considering they only change the oil and filters once a year.

It is not the same pump, the first gen have Bosch VE pumps

I'm working off memory here, but I believe there was a Service Topic out on how to convert your 210 marine With Lucas to Bosch VE pumps. Contact your local Cummins distributor and see if they will dig it up for you.

Lucas pumps are probably fine, they're just like anything else where any contamination can really mess them up.

we have a truck, several actually at work with 210 P Pumps...

Whats the difference between these and the 215's??? the ones at work are Allyson autos, so I am thinking this may have something to do with it?? someone chime in!
