Anyone use this in their fuel?????

My dad bought me a bottle and wanted me to try it. He said it made a noticable difference in his boat diesels and his TIRED 4. 0 Jeep Cherokee.

Just looking for opinions of those that have used it. .

MMO is a very light petroleum product that acts in part as a lubricant, but also as a solvent. In some cases is may be beneficial in keeping the upper end clean and lubricated. I doubt very much that it will hurt your CTD, though whether it helps depends in part if the injectors and upper end is very dirty. If so it might help.

You are probably better off using a diesel fuel additive specifically designed for diesel engines. Depending on what you are looking for, Cetane improver, injector cleaner, lubricity additive, etc. . you have many choices to choose from.

Very good advice.

The only thing I might add is MMO, won't hurt anything.

With a ? about the color. Will the red dye in it cause a fine if you get tested for fuel fraud.

I use it some.

Carry the bottle with you in case the tank gets dipped.

MMO is snake oil in my opinion, use a proper diesel fuel additive.

The red dye wouldn't get you in any trouble if your tank is dipped - they don't test for the dye they test for a chemical tracer. The dye is just there for visual reasons.

I've added some on occasion. I see a bigger difference if I add the silver bottle of power service.

I use one or two Oz. per fillup of MMO in my gasoline autos. I've seen an increase in MPG's when I do.

My little brother is an mech engineer, and he tells me they use it in jet engines. Guess it has to be pretty good stuff for it's intended use.

MMO is a World War two Left over. When my dad came home from Okinawa, he bought a 1948 Willys with a flat head 4. He used the stuff in the gas and oil. It went 45mph with or without it and from my ("hold the flash light while we overhauled the motor in the snow") experience... it did not appear to live up to its claims:)

just run diesel number #2 in it. that's it. what's with all the additives. sure i can see it in the cold for anti-gel properties, but adding crap to the fuel for "lubricity" sake is probably not warranted. this engine is designed to run without additive... ... . my $. 02.....

I have noticed a 1mpg gain if I add a whole bottle to one tank, but I figured your not really saving if after you buy the bottle. Bottom line if someone gives it to you use it, if not add it to clean your upper cylinder and head every once in a while if you believe it helps...

Diesel fuel aint what it use to be, and it will get worse in the future.

I use Stanadyne. If I were going to use some type of oil, I would think 2 cycle oil would make more sense than MMO.
