Competition Maryland all diesel drag race October 7th

Mason Dixon Dragway is having their diesel drag race this coming weekend. Its on route 40 between Hagerstown and Fredrick. Gates open at 9am. Gonna have pickup, dump truck, and road tractor classes. There is a car class, but i haven't seen any - maybe my dad will take his 1976 Mercedes 300D I missed last years, but the year before was a good event. I liked it better than MIR's.



anyone know if Huff n Puff (Merv) is still racing? I saw him cook off a 10. 85 :--) quarter mile before. It would be great to see if he can go quicker now.



if u race u need long pants, but that should not be a problem since its getting colder out - i found out the hard way back in July trying to change in a jiffy john in 90 degree heat #@$%!

My jaw dropped when I was handed that time slip

But my 60ft time was way off, and my MPH at the end didnt jive with a 10sec run. So I chocked it up to smoking the starting lights. I am still racing,thankyou for asking. Sad to say,I can't make it Mason Dixon still working on a few mods.

make up date is October 22



well the rain did not stay out of the area today :{ . There were some practice runs - a few pickups in the low 12s.



A lot of the big trucks began to show up when the rain came in. I estimate there would have been 10-15 road tractors and a handfull of tri-axles running. Trapp Trucking just unloaded their cab-over KW that puts on a nice show when the event was called off. Trapp came with 3 of their trucks. The cab-over KW does a nice burn out and last time i saw them it ran in the low 15s. There was a little dragster with a 2 stroke Detroit that turned a mid 9 second run. Also a Peterbuilt with a big 2 stroke Detroit that had one run in the 13s.



i guess we can only hope for blue skys and an Indian Summer day October 22.
