PA,MD,VA,NJ Dyno day/Picnic/Chapter start?

Scheid 2001

Anyone heading up to the gathering this Saturday AM from south of the area we will be gathering at the Park and Ride at the intersection of 495/95 in College Park, MD at 0600. We are also going to stop at the little mini mart/gas station on the west side of route 15 just north of Frederick at around 0645. I can't remember what the name of the store/station is off the top of my head, it is a little mom and pop type place. They have diesel fuel, it is on a corner across from a corn field. Will be on channel 19 on the CB.

There is a cheaper station in Frederick than that one to get fuel. Exit at Rosemont Avenue, at the end of the ramp turn right and at the 3rd light there is a station with fuel for 1. 339 on the left. This is less than 1 mile and 6 cents a gallon cheaper than the Citgo you are talking about. When you leave to get back on route 15 there will be a Sheetz store for coffee and snacks on the side of the street you are on. They don't have fuel.

Thanks Larry

Appreciate the local info Larry, I couldn't remember for sure if that was a Citgo station or not. I usually stop there on my way up 15 towards PA for convienience reasons.

Last time I came through west Frederick I saw a couple of stations in the low 1. 30s on route 40.

If anyone needs to fuel up we can run over and hit the station Larry suggested.

How come Frederick has all the cheap gas stations? On 40W you have the new Liberty station and a little further down you have Freestate, which is always the cheapest guy in town. I know these guys move enough fuel that you don't have to worry about it. I fuel up at one of these guys every week when I'm in town.

Ok enough retorical ranting about the in-justice of cheap fuel outside of Frederick. Where are we meeting? More importantly, where are we stopping for breakfast? Dave, are you bringing a grill? I have an old-school one that burns charcoal, (you remember what that is, don't you?)that I could bring.

Lookin' forward to seeing everybody.

Saturday AM Meeting

Tom,

Looks like we will be meeting up on route 15, probably 2 or 3 miles north of Frederick. There is a small Citgo station on the west side of 15, it is on a corner, across from a cornfield. At least it was a cornfield the last time I went past.

We should be there around 0645.

I think I have a small portable gas grill that I am going to bring. I am old enough to remember charcol, you may want to bring your charcol burner as a backup. We can use some #2 fuel to light it, it gives the food a great taste, better than mesquite.

Should be a great time.

The Citgo station you're refering to is on the corner of Rt 15 and Sundays Lane. It will be on your left just after you pass Biggs Ford Road. It is also a 6-12 store. I only live a few miles North and buy just about all my fuel there. It's always a few cents higher than the unbranded stations in Frederick but you dont have to go in and pay first, which is a real pet peeve of mine. LOL
