Massey Ferguson Fuel Sending Unit

I have a Massey 231. The fuel gauge is just going E to F and back unless the tank is absolutely full and the float can't move. So I'm pretty sure it's the float/sending unit.



Before I take the hood off to get to it, can these be serviced or do they have to be replaced to fix the problem?

Never mind. I pulled the sending unit. Found the small ground wiper was snapped off. Drilled through the mount and reattached with a self tapping screw and put it back together. Works fine now.
