I need to replace the master brake cylinder in my truck, and am having some trouble locating one.

It is a 94, 2wd, 2500, ctd, with a 8,800gvw. Every place I call only lists 7,500gvw, and they usually don't even have that one in stock. Only one place has, but I don't want to risk putting on the wrong one.

Any ideas?

I finally found that NAPA has a new in stock for 84. 00, or can order a rebuilt for 29. 99, but they didn't sound like they wanted to sell the rebuilt unit.

That's a heck of a price difference.

Prostock----Don't even consider the rebuilt unit unless you want to do it again in 3 months. the master cylinder is the heart of the system so use a new one. ---Sam

I put a rebuilt on my Super Bee over a year ago and haven't had a problem.

I doubt I could buy a new one even if I wanted to.

Sam,

I took your advice and bought the new one.

I mainly use my truck to haul my car, and didn't want the added risk of losing my brakes in the truck, and getting stranded on the side of the interstate somewhere.
