Master Brake

I have a Master Brake system installed on my trailer. After some problems I tried to contact them. None of the phones were answered and the web site can't be found.

Anybody have any ideas n where they are or who now has this product?

Master Brake is the company that originally brought the BrakeSmart controller to market.



My understanding is that the company closed for a short while and the BrakeSmart controller rights were sold. I think that Dr. Performance is now the main, go-to company for the BrakeSmart controller.

The original poster mentioned having the "Master Brake system installed on my trailer. " Whatever that is I don't think it is a BrakeSmart brake controller.

I don't believe Dr. Performance is selling the BrakeSmart controller nor anybody else I am aware. Now if we are not talking about a controller I have never heard of Master Brake. Sorry really of no help on this one.

Okay, maybe I was a little vague when I replied to the original post. I’ll clarify with some facts.



When I bought my BrakeSmart brake controller in August 2004, I ordered it directly from Master Brake Systems, Inc.



The manual for my BrakeSmart controller, which I have on my desk as I am writing this, has the following printed on the back cover:

I don’t know if you can actually buy a BrakeSmart controller from Dr. Performance, but their web site is offering them for sale. See here:

I just read in another thread (below) that Dr. Performance is not selling the BrakeSmart controller. Apparently the controllers are no longer being made, but Dr. Performance is selling the wiring harneses for the controller.

Just want to clarify this... I have NOT contacted Dr. Performance regarding avaialbilty of parts or complete units of the BrakeSmart controller. I was repeating from other threads here on TDR what people have been saying about Dr. not distributing or manufacturing anymore of these fine units, but I do NOT know this for a fact. The Brakesmart controller that I just installed had been sitting new in the box in my garage for 3 years and since installing it, it has performed flawlessly (knock wood!!!) so I have had NO reason to call Dr. Performance and confirm the issue.



However, I AM curious as to what problems the OP is having with his BrakeSmart controller... .
