Does anyone have or happen to know if Matco makes or sells a timing kit for the 12V pump?? If someone has one could you please hook me up with a part #? Who else sells the Timing Kit? TIA

This is for a friend of mine with a 12V mine does that stuff on its own :D

Clark

Properly Valved, not enough Pump :D

Snap-On will snap-it-off in you. . if ya wanna go that way. :D

Miller is less bucks in most cases and if you order frm them be sure and order the gear puller you will need as well. It does not come in the kit.

Well, he checked with the Snap off guy and the Snap on timing kit came with more stuff and was $114 cheaper!! I was rather shocked myself. Thanks for the replies :D

snap on tools ALERT

Just ordered the scrap on timing kit and the injector line sensor for using a timing light, just to check and and log where things are.

IN DOING SO I CALLED CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE TO VERIFY THE PRICES MY TOOL MAN QUOTED ME AND THEY WERE WAY OUT OF RANGE JUST THE PEIZO SENSOR WAS 305. 00 BUT THE "friendly" TOOL MAN QOUTED ME 430. 00?

THE REP I CALLED SAID THERE IS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM FOR THE TOOL TRUCKS COMPUTER LIST PRICES!!

WELL MY f-----! TOOL MAN DID KNOW OF THIS BUT FIGURES ITS WORTH TRYING TO GET ALITTLE EXTRA CASH? UH UHHHHHH!

BUYER BEWARE ! DONT HESATATE TO VERIFY THE PRICES OF ANYTHING YOU BUY OR ORDER FROM SNAP ON!

I have the snap-on kit. It was like 120 bucks, came with the dial indacator, holder, Delivery valve socket, and a geatr puller.

Clark if you all need to borrow one, I would be glad to let you use it when i'm in tulsa.

Most Tool guys. Matco, MAC, Snap on, and Cornwell ETC are indepentant dealers. They own the truck they drive and everything in it. So they can sell those tools for whatever they please :D.

Adam, its actualt for Scott who had the big white 95 up in KC. I posted this because a good friend of mine is a Matco dealer, and we were trying to get it from him. You might check with him on that though, his Tdr name is Mtn Goat

LJ,

The snap-on kit is a pn: sp500 Around 190 bucks, I guess I was wrong on the price earlier.

The engine turnover tool is a pn: ya9565a for like 45 bucks.

I do not use the turnover tool, but it might be habdy for some.

Clark,

Ok I will PM Scott then.

Adam

Adam,

How are you able to hold the engine from turning when you torque the pump nut back on without the barring or whatever they call it tool? I always needed it, but would like to not have to.

Clark,

thats why I said the miller was cheaper in most cases. Differing trucks have differing prices. I have the miller but forgot to order the puller from them. It aint in their kit. I bought the puller from Cummins. Dont do that. It is over a hundred bucks by itself.

Don,

I use a long handle 1/2 inch drive ratchet with a 15 mm socket.

Put it on the damper bolts and hold it with one hand while the other hand is on the ratchet tightning the pump nut.

Torque whats that?!?!? LOL

Thats how I do it, because I did not want to pay 45 bucks for the turnover tool, if I had one I would probably use it. I have not had any problem doing it the way that I do it, but that don't mean I won't!

How much HP are you making now? How do you like your PDR40?

You can pm with that info if you want!

Adam

Adam,

I drive daily with 430. I have more on tap. I just dont go around talking about it much. Joe D. has been a big help with me and shortened my learnnig curve a bunch. My timing is super low right now (14 degrees) and other things help to calm her down on the street. With censored parts it has made (?) If you make it up to Tulsa I will try and show ya. I gotta keep this rig together for work and stuff. Wish I had more bucks to buy another to really make it roll.

I was wondering how/if I could use the crank dampner to do this.

I just use the silly barring tool and lots of extensions. YUK

The PDR is cool beans. I currently run the 16 modified housing. I also have an 18 that Piers hooked me up with. I use it for dyno and max power. It helps with heat a tad when I crank it up too.

The local dyno guys are cool and let me mess around a bit.

I hear you cranked out some numbers to be proud of on your last dyno run. Glad to see it.

I crank my pump nut down to a buck sixty to help her stay on and not slip.

Drive it up here, turn it up as far as you can and if it brakes I have a trailer it will fit on and I will pull you home
