Geo Tracker Question

I need to know how many gallons of water would be inside a container 32 feet long, 12 feet wide and 5 feet deep. Please also tell me what formula you used to come up with your answer, or how you did it. TIA

If I figured this correctly, multiply length x width x height to get the cubic feet size of the container.

Then multiply that by 7. 50 This is the number of gallons in a cubic foot of water.

32 X 12 X 5 = 1920 cubic feet. Times 7. 50= 14400 gallons.

This should be an approximate amount.

BTW, is this structure stationary or is it moveable??

If moveable then multiply the gallons by 8. 48 to find the weight of the water.

8. 48 is the weight of one gallon of water.

Hope this helps and I did it correctly.

I never thought of converting it to feets! Oh well, whatever works! :-laf

Git-er-done, are you filling a shipping container with fuel? Stocking up before winter? :D

Wish I had the money for the fuel idea, but no.

A friend of mine has just purchased a house with a cistern (sp). That is the size of it. Previous owner said it held 375,000 gallon. Now..... I knew it wasnt THAT much, thought I would help him out with figuring out the approx gallon capacity. Thanks again guys. :)

With that much weight, I hope its outside and on on a stable platform of some kind.

The math was easy. I had to do figures like that for a water treatment class I took for my previous employer.
