With my plate slid all the way, and the AFC starwheel adjusted all the way for smoke, I still get 21 mpg on the hwy. Stop and go mileage is another story, especially with my big heavy right foot... .
I have never gotten above 17 before or after the plate movement. Even after the timing change and the BD transmission. Must be the larger tires (285x75xr16) or the fact that i enjoy smoke way too much
You asked how it runs... With the K&N, straight 3", BD trans, plate moved as far as it would go, and AFC spring loosie goosie... (as long as you enjoy smoke during turbo lag ) It will pass anything on the road and is soooo much better than stock. However #5 plate is on the way.
Plate is installed in the full forward position. transmission is working great. My boost is now 40# at WOT. My egt's are never above 800 post turbo??!! Is this normal?
I am going to get one of those bleeder screws for my waste gate. Is this something I can make from a needle valve I have installed now? When the valve is opened even the slightest I am back down to 20 psi within a second or two. My plate was used and did not come with one. What should i set the boost at? I see most people at 35-38 max. Are my egt's normal???... . they seem low. Maybe I have a fuel problem. I did not expect to be able to run it full forward. Thanks for your reply.
I have a #5 TST kit in my '95. The kit comes with a boost elbow for the waste gate. If I really get on it I see 30 PSI up hill and unloaded. Most of the time when I'm towing it will get up to 28 or so on a steep hill. From what Ted Janetty (sp) says that may even be too much boost.
