Just install in '96 Dodge and receive the following message, check trailer wiring. I have been holding the calibration button and receive no message other than check trailer wiring. Trailer is not hooked up. So what am i missing here?

I don't know about the Max Brake, but any trailer controller that I use, needs the trailer hooked up in order to set it.

That sounds like normal behavior. Since the MaxBrake has no way of knowing if the trailer is actually connected, it assumes there must be something wrong if it can't sense the trailer's wiring.

John L.

mrtrombley is correct it will read Check Trailer Wring. When you plug in the trailer I believe it says something like OK unless there is is a problem with the trailer brakes or wiring.

I have hooked trailer up did the calibration, drove on the freeway trailer stop smooth first time, then the display went blank, truck engine running nothing showing. Drove several miles no trailer brakes, I plugged in my Old Prodigy unit and was working just find. Is this normal that the display goes off? No brakes I think not. #@$%!

If you've followed the installation and troubleshooting instructions carefully and the unit isn't functioning correctly, then call MaxBrake for support at 337-542-4050.

Good luck,

Jay is wonderful to deal with isn't he. I'm sure your controller will be back to you in no time.

Thank you too for taking the time to call me and let me know you had an issue and that it was in the process of being installed. Diana
