Someone cut the bed down?

travel on Hwy 50 and 54 Co. to Pa.

I currently am using a Prodigy brake control, it is ok but i am looking for something better and have been checking out Max Brake. From all that I have read and heard it sounds like the way to go for the money. Has any one out there used or has a Max Brake system that can give me some feed back?

Do a search titled "MaxBrake" on this site and you will find some comments. TDR member Larry Willard has one on his '08 CTD and has several thousand miles of use towing his 5th wheel. You might send him a PM asking for his comments.

I have the Maxbrake controller and love it. It is the best controller I have had in years, simply stated it just works! I have not had any of the problems I always experienced with the Hayes controller I had been using in the '96 and '01 trucks, no readjusting for different trailers, no over application or under application of the brakes.

I haven't actually towed with a MaxBrake but have used a BrakeSmart, which was the original design, for several years and about 500,000 miles. I used the BrakeSmart for 400,000 miles as an RV transporter.

Until you've towed a heavy trailer with a MaxBrake or BrakeSmart brake controller you simply haven't experienced smooth, consistent, coordinated, properly modulated trailer braking.

The old adage, "try it, you'll like it" applies.

I promise anyone who has been using an inertia-based controller like the Prodigy, you won't regret spending the money to buy a MaxBrake.
