max brake

my max brake controller quit working no display no brakes nothing work one day next day quit i have power and a ground to the controller i hope there is a fix because i don't want to go back to my old controller

I'm sorry that my, my hard reset didn't make the blank screen come back on. I asked Dutch how he made out talking to you and he said you would get back to him. I hope that between the two of you, you can get a bit more life out of our MB. Hugs, Di

If someone has a failed controller, I would like to see if they can be repaired. Di, any chance you can get the schematic of the circuitry? I was trained in electronics 50 years ago in USCG and have kept my hand in the field over the years. Also trained by NCR on many electronic machines. Chris

MB never gave me any schematics so unfortunately we are all out of luck there. I wish I could have helped. I would love to see MB owners continue to keep their controllers working. Hugs, Di

i want thank everyone for there responses when i first checked for power i had 12v when i stepped on the brake peddle this thing of not having my MB been bothering me i got to thinking about it last week and thought there should be a wire with a constant 12v i got to checking things out and here i had missed a fuse the first time around put in new fuse all is well

Is there an equivalent unit from another manufacturer that even comes close?

I'm going to need one and would really like to get something decent.

Some of my customers have told me---this is them, not me as I don't have or use Direct Link--that it is really not equivalent to the MB in their opinion. I am just passing this info on and if other users feel that it is equivalent and are happy with it, that would be good to know. Hugs, Di

I have a Max Brake that has/ is failing. It will show a short to ground fault when none exists? I can reset it and it works again for awhile, but gets progressively worse and is not reliable enough to use in my opinion. (This happens on any trailer I pull) if you want to play with it, I can sent it to you. the only catch is, if you can repair it, I want it back! LOL. but would pay you a fair price for your time. I bought a direct link and haven't had any problems since. And it works pretty good, almost as good as the MB. PM me if your interested.

I have a customer who purchased a MB from me in 2013. He is not going to be RV'ing anymore and wants to sell his MB. I told him I would post here. If anyone is interested in it, you can e-mail me at -- email address removed -- and I can put the two of you together. I most likely have a Dodge {or other} tee & have a few Dodge {or other}harnesses left depending on the year of your truck. I could sell you those separately.
He used it on his 2003 Ford Expedition. He assures me everything works fine and it is in great shape.
I do not know how much he wants for it but that would be between you and him. Please let me know if you are interested. Hugs, Di
