Max Tow shifts

So those of you with a Max Tow package with 4. 10's how would you discribe the up shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd? They seem very firm, almost harsh to me. This is coming from someone who has been peddling gears for the last 3 years and before that had a 48RE.

My truck is not the Max Tow but it shifts firm thru all the gears like it should. I am sure yours is no different.

Just leave the EB and TH on all the time and enjoy!

Mine shifts firm, but feels normal to me, I don't like slipping sliding shifts, I never use TH when not towing, I don't care the way it feels, but always have EB on, and TH when towing

We make our first pull this weekend be it a short one of 40 miles but will see how it does then.

Made our first trip with the trailer in tow this weekend and all went well. Love the truck and it pulls great! shifts were firm but nice and solid. Can't wait for our next big trip!!! Oo.

The transmission shifts firm in reg mode. T/H mode is medium to hard shifts which is fine. Downshifts were surpring at first in TH as I did not expect it to run RPM's to 3000 for exhuast brake etc. Once i got used to it, I began to like it. I was never able to slow my toy hauler 5th down on a 6% grade without feathering the brakes on my 05' with a pac brake 6 sp manuel. The truck now slows me down to the point I have to speed up for traffic behind me. Power was good and kept me at the speed limit without effort. Glad i got the 4:10 towhaul. Tows the 5th at 70mph without effort. 62 MPH was max with 05'. 5th weighs 17K loaded.

Set your cruise controll and use the paddle shift to help controll speed. You still can out smart the computer!
