As so many have stated in this forum and in several articles in the TurboDiesel Register magazine regarding function and installation, the MaxBrake works great and is mostly easy to install. I've really enjoyed the "unified" and smooth braking with my Ram and Fiver on my first trip with the MaxBrake. Obviously immensely better than the Time based controller I inherited with the truck. Have the MaxBrake gain set at 23 for now.

Dutch and Di provide unparalled service! THANKS!

However, be very carefull inserting the stock Brake Line into the provided Brass T. My experience was that this was very difficult and unexpectedly challenging. I finally thought I had the Brake Line correctly lined up and threaded into the T after much more effort than anticipated and screwed it in with the flare wrench only to discover when finished it was a little crooked and cross threaded, so it leaked. The working space is somewhat confined and using the flare wrech requires a lot of put on/take off partial turns. I should have examined my screwing in carefully.

So I got to invest in another Brass T and new front Brake Line. Neither the instructions or the articles I read indicated this could be so difficult and problematic, at least for the inexperienced brake line "handyman" (as the brochure indicates).

Maybe I'm the only one who's had this problem... and I hope no one else encounters this difficulty.

Safe travels to everyone and I know I'm now safer with MaxBrake!

Great info

This is information that I have been looking for. Sorry about your misfortune. I plan to order one of these in the very near future as I do not even have a brake controller.

DAN V, I see that you have an 02. I also have an 02 7 when I installed my MaxBrake I had no problems at all. Took about an hour & half. Had more trouble going through the firewall then any thing else, great controller & Dutch & Di are great to work with.

Jack, thanks for the info. I have been buying parts for the truck since I got it in May or June of this year. I am hoping to have truck road ready for this winter.

To go threw the firewall on my 05 I used the over 1" round rubber "boot" around what I think is the Hood release cable and cut a slit in the rubber to feed the connector through as others have done.
