Well, for the first time on my 8th Ram/Cummins since 1991, I took the plunge and bought the extended MaxCare warranty. Plan to do more traveling once I retire so wanted peace of mind if I have problems on the road. Guess I'll know in 8 yrs. if it was worth it. One encouraging thing-- I asked the rep. what would happen if FCA files bankruptcy or sells before the expiration of the warranty period and she claims they have a separate fund set aside which would be exempt from bankruptcy proceedings. If true, that's great. I'm hoping the same fund would survive a sale as well.

I have had my 2015 at dealers 4 times for flashes and recalls, and getting a loaner or free rental vehicle is part of the MaxCare Warranty benefits. I will be happy if it never has an issue in the 120K/8 years. Only one of three warranties I have ever purchased. 1. VCR recorder/player - never used it. 2. Up grade appliances in our part model which was a bargin. 3. The MaxCare.

I agree with Sno. Never bought ext warranty's in the past, but I did after 1 year ownership of my 2016

comrades! what did the warranty cost? i declined a warranty in january when i purchased my 18 cummins 2500. the finance guy threw a hissy fit. i told him i could come back and purchase the warranty one day shy of 3 years or 36k.....cheers! thanks in advance for your opinions.

I just picked up a 15 with 60k miles. I guess it is too late for extended coverage?

A friend also has a 14 Durango, just bought out the lease. I told him about the max care, he inquired, and they sold it to him. I think he has 30k on the clock. It cost more than mine, but he's sleeping well now.

Any Ram dealer can check your vin for a quick list of available extended service contracts .

They can also check your vin at the mvp website. (Mopar vehicle protection)

Shop to see who gives the best deal. Dealer or website. They can check for your warranty availability/options and give a quote.
