I heard the front axle on our trucks is already pretty close to the max load capacity. However I am getting ready to place an order on a warn winch (138 lbs) and Warn heavy duty replacement bumper (350lbs). Would this be to much for the front axle? Does anyone know what the front of these trucks are rated at and what the max # is?

Thanx

Dave

Not sure if the front is the same for the DRW 3500 trucks as the SRW but mine has a 5200 lb front axle capacity, it was around 4000 lbs at the CAT scales on the front end, so you should have plenty of capacity.

Mine I see about 4200 with just me in it with the cab loaded up I see about 4550. When I hook trailer up I actually lose a little front weight as the hitch is about 1/2 too far back (not much like 100lbs less with a hitch pin weight of ~3000 lbs)

Don't know how stuck on the Warn bumper you are but there are other bumpers out there that will weigh half as much as that unless that 350lbs includes the weight of the bumper and the winch otherwise you are talking almost 500lbs. A couple that come to mind are the UTE (160lbs) and the Denver Off Road (135lbs) both are great bumpers add the winch you would save a couple hundred lbs. I am pretty sure there are others as well. Just an idea.
