While I was installing injecters last night I was trying to remove grid heater housing. I've never seen it done and it wouldn't come off easy so I got a stupid idea that the terminal posts may have acted as thru bolts. Sooo! I tried to unscrew one of them. The silicone type washer under the post was damaged, not completely gone but just about. Any body know of a way to replace it and with what? Is it a silicone washer of sume sort or something else? And will it hurt to remove the leeds and tape them up till it's fixed? May not be hurt but I don't know for sure.

Thanks Jared

Wanted to move this back up so it won't get missed. Is there any body out there that may have experianced the same problem, or am I just an "IDIOT" for screwing it up!

your grid heater

You will have to take the grid heater off of the truck completely to fix it. You want to ensure that the heater posts do not contact ground. Remove the two leads off of the positive battery posts to ensure power does not go to the grid. If you are unsure about fixing the grid take it to a mechanic.

You don't need the grids to start the truck. It may smoke white for a few seconds but it will not hurt anything.

You can probably repair it

Take it apart, inspect the insulators. the silicon is used to prevent boost from leaking around the bolts and insulators. Just re-silicon the post from the inside with some high temp silcon and let it set up before reinstalling it.
