Competition TS Outlaw Roll Call

I heard two trucks maxed out the dyno at May Madness at 1200hp. One was Chris from Redding and the other was R. Brown. Riles from J&H was close at 11xxhp. Since both the trucks maxed out the dyno the winner was decided by who flat line the graph longer and that made Chris the winner. Oo.

WOW:eek: amazing!!

Ok...

I have a question here... .

WHY was the dyno left with the nose in the downward position and not leveled off to allow the weight of the truck to be on the dyno?. Dynoing with the ramp down in the front is no different than sitting the rear of the truck on a pair of jackstands and dynoing, freewheeling city.

This is not to make a mockery of anyones power made or their numbers, but,if you desire all of us(those who participate at dyno shows across the country)then please at least give us all the same consideration Mr. Donnelly once asked us all for.

There is a advantage to dynoing like this and alot of those other members who go to outside shows use in ground dynos and can not cheat like this... . Andy

I was in the restaurant about a hundred feet away when that boot blew and it sounded like something hit the building, very loud. We all went out to see what had happened.

Bgilbert, there was a sweet 1st gen there run by a 19 year-old girl from Reno, a white extra-cab. I think she dynoed at around 165, I believe it was stock. There were at least 2 trucks that did 1200 HP, one a 12v and one a 3rd gen.

I thought there was another truck that did 1197 also but there were so many that day it is hard to remember them all.

Hammer, I don't claim to know a lot about the dyno business, but if the rear wheels are strapped down and driving the dyno, what difference does it make? Isn't it all about rotational force?

I can't wait to see all of the dyno numbers, including those of ford and chevy... ... Hope the cummins blew them all away. Shame on me, I live in Pahrump and didn't see didn't see but 10 minutes of the Madness... . only able to stop by to say hello to my viper buddy Marko as he was judging trucks.

I'd like to know too, I thought it would hurt as there is less traction at the rear wheels?

I was wondering about some of the dyno numbers myself until they put up a brand new 6. 7 3500 from across the street and it did 286 or 287 which I think was really close. There were a couple of 6. 0's that dynoed one was 315hp and the other was like 345 and it was blowing smoke and sounded like it was running really well. The one that got me wondering about the dyno was a "stock" 07 Chevy that a vendor had that was there had that dynoed 340 or so but soon after that was the 6. 7 that dynoed 286.

bgilbert; I tried to make it there but just didn't work out. :{ Last year here in Denver I showed 565 corrected on Maddogs dyno.

What was the correction factor?

Well. .

I guess then it would be easier to answer this with a question to you...

IF the majority of the trucks weight is left hanging downhill where the weight load is ALL carried by the front tires and not distributed evenly,do you think the HP numbers can be elevated also?... ... . Andy
