The Official DHRA Indiana Diesel Nationals thread!

What? No Turbo Tech 2006?!

Drag Diesel, we will have drag racing. Yeah, on dirt, but less breakage that way, and the pressure washer will clean up even your truck afterwards :)

I don't want anyone to stay home because of fear that the rules will be stacked against him/her. We will do everything possible to be fair and not favor one over another.

Tech at 3 pm, gates open 5 pm, pulls start 6 pm. Friday May 5, Pahrump Speedway.

For those of us that are aware of the budget just a little info. Pre registration before April 21 is $84 and after that it is $90. If you are going to pull it is $35 for 3 hooks. If you want to qualify for the trophies and the purse you must register for the May Madness event. BUT, if you are not planning on attending the Banquet on Sat. it should be about $35 less for the registration. Maybe Joe could give us the exact amount for only a couple of days????? I just thought I would post this to give everyone a heads up. Things add up quick and need to bring enough $ for beer too. :-laf

So if I can't pre register because I haven't been authorized the time off yet, and I just want to show up on Friday and pull its 90+35=$125. 00 ?

nah that can't be--I think what you're seeing BBD is the full event from start to finish with everything included--should be only $35 or so to pull I would hope--but maybe I'm wrong--I too am on the bubble due to my wife's issue, so I can't pre-register, but if turns out it's $125 I won't be there for sure no matter what--chris

I haven't been authorized the time off yet Your a CWO, just tell them what you going to do unlike me :)

I was told Fulmer your deploying in May... ... have a nice day!

This is why I posted. You can subtract around $35 from the $90 registration amount if you are not doing the Banquet. But I am not sure exactly how much. I believe it is only $45 to $50 for a couple of days. And remember this is so you can try pulling for a trophy and the purse. I suppose you can just pay the $35 and pull without trying to win the money and trophies. I REALLY, REALLY, wish Joe would post and clear this up. I know he wants everyone to pre register but it would help a lot if we knew exactly how much it is going to cost.

In case I didn't make that very clear either. Nancy told me that last year they charged $45 for everything except Sat. That is because the Banquet is the biggest expense. So if it was the same as last year, it would be $45 to register and $35 for the pull which would bring it to $80 total. Plus what ever other expenses like food and lodging etc. Hope that clears it up.

You pullers can have a one-day registration for $35, or get the full registration less $28 if not going to the banquet (that is the cost of the banquet). However, the trophies are given out at the banquet, and vendor prizes are raffled off there (each attendee gets a raffle ticket and drawings are at random, as in previous years. ) Since you get a polo shirt with your registration, you are really not paying very much to attend the rally for Friday.

so purse is paid at the banquet and to get your purse you need to attend--is that right???? and to get into the banquet we need to buy a registration of $90 --this includes pull fee right??? what do you get if you pay registration less $28--seems like you get to pull and nothing more, so it's cheaper to pay $35 just to pull, but if you win you get no purse winnings---does this sound right or am I totally confused????? ..... chris

Hey Chris, The $90 and the $35 for the pull are two seperate things. The confusing part is if you will still get the purse if you don't go to the Banquet. It seems a little rediculous to register for one day, ( i. e. for the pull on Friday) so that you can qualify for the prizes, and then not be able to get the prizes if you don't attend the Banquet on Sat night. This is why I e mailed Nancy in the first place to try to sort this all out. It seems to me, that you should not need to be present to collect the purse if you win. Otherwise there is not much sense in registering at all. So lets see. Pay $35 for 3 hooks, Pay $35 to register to qualify for the prizes and get a polo-shirt, Pay $28 to go to the Banquet so you can collect your prize, for a total of $98. Or pay $35 for 3 hooks. I under stand that it costs money to put on a sled pull, and also that it is the May Madness event but for crying out loud if you register for the one day and win you shouldn't have to pay again to collect your winnings. Especially since the pullers are what makes the show. Sorry, just my 2 cents.

Wow Betty, I hope you did'nt hurt yourself when you stepped off the soapbox! :-laf :-laf :-laf

Seriously though, I would like to register for the one day (friday) and pay for the hook fees, however i can't find a hotel in the vicinity right now, so I am not going to hang around for the banquet on saturday. Soooo, that would be $70 and i would qualify for the purse and trophy, IF I happen to somehow win, right???

Okay, what can I say. I just wish this whole this could get CLEARED up. It shouldn't be that difficult to put some accurate information out there. Don't get me started again.

Yes that would be $70. But if you aren't going to the Banquet, make sure that if you do win, you can collect the purse and trophy. This is what is so frustrating. Maybe someone can collect it for you. Who knows. :{

I'm hauling a truck to the event but not pulling, myself, so I'm not sure if I qualify for voting on rules. Either way, I have a 2. 85" plug to tech for the 2. 8" inducer limit should the need arise. I will be there early Friday afternoon and will be leaving Friday night to come home. If help is needed with tech, I will do what I can. One way or another, the rules don't matter if they aren't enforced. See you in a few weeks.

Hey now, lets not forget about the cost of the extra night in the Hotel to collect your winings on Saturday night :D

Tom check your PM's at DC.
