What program are you useing for editing digital Gary? Sweet Vids... :D

Thanks for the kind words - especially since these are my first efforts - new video making gear, and steep learning curve! Being an older coot, don't have the same taste in music as younger guys, or the albums to draw on, so I get a bit of flak on the music portions.

The vid-making software is Intervideo WinDVD, and came with the Pixtor video adaptor box I recently bought.

Fact is, the attempted theme in these vids, is the stuff that frequently draws us guys to these truck forums - and to clean up and adorn them for public display - we're often more than simply "truck owners" - we're dedicated ENTHUSIASTS, with our own personal attachments and love affairs for these trucks.

With that in mind:

Guys hating my musical selections can relax - these 3 vids pretty well exhaust my supply of available video material, as well as "suitable" support music... ;) :-laf

Your tellin me!

The learning curve for me is sloping downhill fast. I have winDVD, along with picture package, which has another editing tool. I have made one short film of the family on ATVs up in the hills. Cannot figure out how to use the clipping, effects, afraid I will kill the whole movie! I am struggling, but I guess everything takes time. If you need music, I have a extensive collection, could always copy and send you some CDs? Let me know, I have a lot of newer country rock, old rock, and popular stuff. No rap, to me it is just poetry, not music, old fart in me coming out..... :D

Just tell me what theme you are looking to fill, and I can send you some music to fit? We might be onto something? :D

Gary,

Welcome back. We will not always agree on things, but that is part of life... especially when modifying our trucks. So, lets just try to be civil and understand each other. I trust you are doing well.

Absolutely no sweat - I fully realize no matter how much a guy tries to get along, he will likely ALWAYS be confronted by the few - ummm, "gentlemen" - who will go outta their way to insult or create disruptive agitation. In that regard, the last flurry ended up being pretty productive in that it clearly identified the dozen or so members here who clearly dislike me - so they now reside in the bottom of my "ignore" pot - I'll not respond to THEM, ever, and can only hope they get the message, and move on to other targets...

'Nuff said on that issue... ;)

CF, let me know what it is you are trying to accomplish in your video editing, I may have already figured it out - my software came with VERY poor documentation, so pure trial and error was all I had to go on - otherwise, the program IS pretty decent as to available features.

Biggest issue I have, is the small size and poor resolution of the end product - but most Pics I take are lower resolution for internet use - I'll have to try more detailed stuff to see how that affects the final result.

Proper music really is a big plus in video enhancement - I'll post one more video here, purely as a sample of what I consider a good matchup of video to music - sorry it's a more personal vid of the past years RV travels with my relatives, but it illustrates a point pretty well:

Gary,

Off the subject, I just wanted to thank you for the effort you put into showing the details of your pusher pump install. It was a great help when I did my install. Welcome back.

Exactly as I predicted: (post #70) "Just like others pointed out, this is a big game for Gary. Just a ploy to draw attention.

Garry was the one to run off and cry, no one ran him off. Simply that more than one called him on his attitude, postaholic behavior, and the fact that he could never stay on topic. Anytime anyone called him on some lunacy he was posting he would always respond with the same sarcastic, petty attitude.

It's my opinion that Gary will never leave. He will just try and create some BIG "everyone is picking on me", collect some sympathy and then "come back" and start the same bull all over. "

And as others (post number 71 in the cry me a river thread) commented:

"Yep - that pretty much proves why he started this thread. Left an open-ended post, waited a few days to see what people would say about him, and now he's back. It's like a soap opera - so predictable.

I want something more mysterious with plot twists. You can do better than this Gary... "

Are you still a free loader (as you bragged about in another thread) or are you a dues paying member?

You CAN be an asset to the TDR IF you dont return to being a postaholic/know it all. And PLEASE, when someone questions you on a post dont get sarcastic like you have in times past. If you need an example of what I am talking about, I can find the post number and thread. I know you are reading every response. :-laf

Never mind, here is one of your semi-sarcastic posts (#360 in the thread):

"What on earth are you ranting about now? When was it last mentioned on this thread about the effect of fuel temps on the electronics?"

UMMmmm - excuse me?

What "rant" and where did I say the comments I addressed came from THIS thread - altho' I do seem to recall some to that effect here as well...

I *do* get to other threads and boards, and figured in light of low activity on this thread, I'd make the comments I did - sorry to have offended you and ruffle you feathers...

Ya know, it's responses and comments EXACTLY like this that led me to not renew my TDR membership - and all I lack is for Steve to do his next purge - then maybe everyones world will again turn serene...

IN FACT - Steve - would you PLEASE terminate my entry into this board IMMEDIATELY - I've had all this sort of unnecessary BS I care to take...

Cheers to the good guys, to the rest...

This is the kind of post that get others irritated at you. I dont think anyone wants to ban you but come on, you can do better than that. Nor do I think anyone "hates" you, just get tired of you overposting and your attitude at times

Why dont we all just give it a fresh start, you think about all the negative comments to your "delete my membership thread" ( and see if you think any apply) and the others will think it over too and hopefully we can ALL play nice together.

I don't know what/where/ and how, but!

I really don't know what went down here, but you all could take a lesson from the political section of this forum. We argue 24/7 have a heck of a time doing it, and realize that this forum is put here for our enjoyment. If it does not please us, we can keep our mouse from clicking the TDR forums link. Gary and I have had several runs in's in the past, we do not agree on several issues, but I hold no animosity towards him or anyone else, (except maybe sled puller :-laf ) and realize that politics, religion, and trucks can sometimes get dirty... Just wipe it off and go on... :D Gary I will PM you when I get into the video program, and give you some specifics.

"Gary I will PM you when I get into the video program, and give you some specifics. "

IF you are trying to cut out portions of video clips to clean them up or shorten them in WinDVD, import the original video up into the holding screen at upper right, then right click on the one you have selected for editing - this will bring up a screen allowing various options, one of which is "video manager" - that's the one you want. Click on that, and you will get a screen showing the beginning and end of the selected vid clip, with arrow boxes allowing you to select the number of seconds you want to clip from whichever end you are working on - as near as I can see, only the ends can be clipped, not the middle - then save or drag the modified vid down onto the assembly area...

Hope that helps...
