I know this may sound unusual, but it’s great how TDR members can be so helpful to each other, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to post this.

I’m living in my travel trailer on a friend’s property out here in the boonies northeast of Seattle. I like living here where it’s nice and quiet, but the commute to and from work is awfully long, a minimum of 1. 25 hours each way, and that’s with no traffic. I will be going back to school this fall at South Seattle Community College, which is not too far from where I work at the SeaTac Airport. I will not be able to handle getting home from work at midnight and then driving back through Everett and downtown Seattle in the morning traffic to get to school by 7. SO, the time has come to move closer to school and work!

However, I can’t quite afford to buy a place of my own yet, plus, I will probably be moving to some other city in two years when I finish school. Besides that, depending on how hectic school is, I may drop down to part-time at work, so that would cut my income down. I don’t want to move into an apartment, I already have an apartment on wheels, and it’s paid for. I’d have to pay to put it in storage.

For a few months, I lived in the KOA campground in Kent, but it was way too noisy for me on that busy 212th street. Too many trucks slamming into the "speed bump" at the base of the Green River bridge a hundred feet away from my trailer. My trailer would actually shake like an earthquake every few minutes, it was impossible to sleep! I thought $400 a month plus electricity was a little too much for such conditions, although the place was clean and not full of riff-raff. I recently spent some time scouting out a few trailer parks, but they all seemed so "trashy" and full of druggy-looking types who glared at me as I drove through.

The reason why I’m posting this is because I’d like to ask if any of you, or if you know of someone in Kent/Auburn/Covington/Maple Valley/Federal Way/etc. who has acreage or a large backyard that I can park my trailer in. Maybe an RV owner who has set up their own RV sewer drain that I can tap into. I will pay monthly rent in cash. I’m single, quiet, trustworthy, and the only pet I have is a cockatiel. I will be "invisible" during the week, because I will be going non-stop from school at 7am through work at 10:30pm. It would be a win-win situation, because the property owner would make money (cash on the side, tax free) and I would be able to live cheap. Plus, there would be another set of eyes to watch the place if the owners are away. I’d be more than happy to help out with handyman (or Dodge/Cummins maintenance/bombing) work or whatever on the weekends to "earn my keep". I promise not to be annoying.

Well, anyway, that’s my situation. If any of you can help me out, or if you know of someone who might, please let me know. Send me an e-mail at -- email address removed --

Thanks, Andy
