MBRP Cool Duals, question

Just what about the MBRP Cool Duals makes them unable to work on a two wheel drive truck?



I would love to put a Cool Duals system on my 3500 DRW but they say it will only fit on 4X4 trucks.

Probably the clearence over the rear axle, the MBRP crossover goes directly over the rear diff.

A really good muffler shop, should be able to fab something special for your 2wd. I know it might cost a little more, but if that's the look you want go for it.

Over the top of the rear end would pose a problem, I would order the 304 SS system so I don't think a local shop would handle that type of pipe where I live so that would be out. I know they don't stock anything over 3 inch.



I guess I will just stick with the single out, I just ordered the MBRP replacement muffler just to give MBRP a try to see if I like the sound.



I do like the looks of the duals exiting out both sides.

I have the cool duals on my 4x4 3500 dually it is VERY close to the axle... that 4 inch diameter pipe takes up a lot of space. I was concerned for a short period when I had my tag along hooked up (running about 5-6k lbs) because of compression... but did 1500 miles like that without a problem. If you put a lift on the 2x4 truck you should be able to run them

If you're willing to take the liability and work with making the clearance on a 2WD it will fit but it's very very tight. MBRP doesn't feel comfortable that all owner/installers could get it "right" so they say 4x4 only!

I would love to have a set, but I was wondering what it was that caused a problem, now that I know the pipe runs right over the pumpkin read end housing I don't think I want to risk the clearence or heat issues.



I do think they look great, I did order the MBRP replacement muffler for my truck.
