MBRP exhaust

Was looking at the MBRP exhaust on DPP site and they show a 4" downpipe with there kit. Is this a full 4" pipe? Or does it come out smaller and then flare up to a 4". I thought Banks was the only one that had a exhaust with a full 4" down pipe. Anyone got this exhaust on there truck? Still have not made up my mind which one to get.

i installed this system several months ago. it is made very good and installs in about 30 min. all the hangers have good welds and were in the proper spots.



i did a very bad drone at 2100-2300 rpms that i could not deal with. had to install an areobine muffler before the muffler on the down pipe. it helped out a ton. you may want to consider that into the price (150) it you don't want the drone. my 315's also helped out a bit. they seem to keep me out of that rpm at 50-65 mph.



the complete system is the same size. 4 inch. it clamps the cast down pipe coming off your turbo. i think the banks system also replaces that cast pipe.

Do you have any pictures of how it clamps to the cast downpipe?

If their downpipe clamps to the cast elbow, it is not a "full" 4 inch system. The cast elbow is 3. 5" or so until you get to the 2004. 5 trucks where it changed to a full 4".

It has a 3. 5" connector to the elbow on the turbo.



No drone with my dual 4" DPP/MBRP system, couldn't be happier with it.

The normal system starts at the cast turbo elbow at 3. 5 and immediately flares up to 4. 0 inches. We have built the system this way to keep your options open on adding a turbo mount exhaust brake, if the down pipe actually mounts to the turbo you will not be able to add a brake later without changing the down pipe again. That said in approx 4 weeks we will have an optional down pipe that connects directly to the turbo at 4. 0 full inches, that way we have both systems available for each type of customers needs.

You just reuse the factory V band clamp on our down pipe, real easy install too as all of our hangers are welded and reuse the factory rubber mounts.

MBRP is great.

I installed the MBRp exhaust on my truck and couldn't be happier. I do not have a drone. The sound is slightly loude than stock but not noticeably at all. When you get on it, you know that it is not stock but at the same time it is still not loud. I love the exhaust, install was a piece of cake. Service from DPP was great and Mark was extremely helpful. I will shop with them again.
