Has anyone tried this exhaust system. I found a great deal on an aluminized system. I am only keeping this truck another year or so, so i am not concerned with getting a stainless system... .

It is turbo back...

Don't know what year truck you have, but I have the 4" Turbo Back aluminzed system on my truck with a polished 5" tip. It's holding up fine (corrosion wise), but I live far away from the sea shore.

I have been happy with mine with the exception that there is the draeded drone at 2100 rpm when pulling the trailer under heavy throttle.

Some people get the drone, some don't. I got it. It's not so bad that I'm going to change out mufflers, but it does take a little getting used to it. There is no drone when not pulling the trailer.

Good system. It took longer to pull/cut out the old stock system tahn it did t install the new one.

I agree with Juan. Pulling the old system took much more time than installing the MBRP 4" on my '98. It was much louder than the Banks cat back it replaced so I wound up getting a 4" cat off a '06 to add in. Still louder than the Banks which was a bit louder than stock. Unless you live where they heavily salt the roads, the aluminized system should last a long time.

I love my 4" 304 dools. No drone for me and I love the sound. Pretty much the hardest part was getting the old exhaust out. (Just hacked it into pieces) The new pieces fit great. I would never even think about NOT getting 304 stainless in upstate NY, LOTS of salt

Just get the muffler and save the $'s if you're going to be getting rid of it... . you should already have a 4" cat back (assuming your an 04. 5+ truck), just a crappy / stuffed muffler.

Above i recommended just going with the muffler, to save $'s. I however, got a good deal on the borla cat back (4")... . i love it... . sounds mean and zero drone at any speed.

I just installed a 4" single cat back on mine and I love the sound! I can't really hear a drone yet, but I just drove it on the freeway for a few minutes. I had my wife drive it up and down the street a couple of times because inside it does not sound that different, but outside it sounds pretty cool. My truck only has 5,000 miles on it and let me tell you getting the old exhaust off there is a MAJOR PITA! Installing the new took only a few minutes once the other one was out which actually took a couple of hours of beating to both me and the pipes.

mbrp makes great systems that are of great quality and value, and most are easy to install. sound is different on one truck vs another but over all it's quiet.
