Late last week I started hearing a "clunk" from underneath the truck every time I hit a bump. Discovered the inlet pipe to the muffler was rotted at the clamp about 3/4 of the way around. On Thursday I ordered an MBRP 4" Turbo-back system in 409 stainless. It was delivered yesterday and I installed it this morning.
I must say, I've installed maybe 4 or 5 exhaust systems in my life and this one was by far the easiest. Once the old system was removed, the install took about 45 minutes. Everything fit perfectly and the only cut I needed to make was to shorten the tailpipe in order to install the polished tip. By far, the hardest part of the project was removing and then reinstalling the band clamp between the turbo and downpipe as there is very little room up in there to turn a ratchet.
What a sweet sound! Not too loud inside the cab and no real drone that I've noticed thus far. Not sure if it's the difference in sound, but I swear she's got better throttle response now too. All in all I'm quite happy having installed a stainless exhaust system with a lifetime warranty for less than $500.
