mbrp muffler kit or genos ME kit?

trying to decide on which to go with. i dont plan on uping fuel for quite a while. i havent heard a strait piped 3rd gen with the cat on so i dont know what to expect. does is resonate bad? will a tip make a diff in the sound? let me know what you guys have done and how you like it.



keeping warrenty intact. gotta leave kitty alone :{

In my opinion, I didn't like the strait pipe. I went with the MBRP muffler and love it. The exhaust tip will make it resonate a tiny bit more, but does give it that deep sound. Easy enough to try it with or without on.

I like both styles. . I did the muffler delete, no cat with a straight though muffler ($230-ish total in parts and labor, I had one part welded). I with the windows up, you do not hear much, mine doesn't seem to resonate. I can hear a little rumble when I get on things.



The sound you really hear most is what is reflecting back at ya from objects on the road. Nothing like entering a highway with a walll right next to ya running though the gears.



the other day I was getting off the highway (onto another one) and this spot has a really long exit deal (394 west to 169 in the msp area). it's a 2 laner for the most part. I noticed this F150 putzing as I was starting to get off of 394 and desiced to run her up to 100mph and make a fly by. I can only imagine what it was like to hear the turbo whistel and then the roar of 40psi + striaght pipe then the F150 get sucked into my vortex as I wizzed by at just about 100mph. Once I passed I noticed he was returning to the middle of hte lane after over compasating for my fly by

I have genos me kit with a mbrp 5" tip, I like the way it sounds, it's quite a bit louder under acceleration but not obnoxious, and while crusing it's not annoying either. I don't seem to have any drone either.

I was concerned about the noise I might get with a ME kit. I ordered a MBRP Cool Duals in 304 stainless and love it! Got it for about $750 which is about 450 less than I could find it anywhere else on line. Good luck!
