Any Oil Analysis results with Donaldson Endurance Oil Filters?

Im curious who has installed an MBRP single setup on theri truck?

Im thinking about either putting either replacing just the muffler or doing the complete cat back install.

My inquiry is how much more incab noise over stock did you notice after the install?

Thanks.

A friend and I installed a pair of 5'' stacks on his 06 QC DRW yesterday, we left the cat. and eliminated the muffler, and the noise level is minimal. I'm not sure of the sound your looking for, But the cat. back pipe stock, is allready 4" all the way back, so maybe just loose the muffler.

I have the MBRP replacement muffler (MK96116) and love it. Not much louder at idle or cruising... just a deeper tone (not drone) and a real nice sound at WOT. I tried a straight pipe and took it off with in about 30 minutes due to the sound and in cab noise.

You have an 05 all you need is the replacement muffler kit from DPP. I have it on my 05 & no drone, can't hardley hear it in the cab unless you role down the passenger window. I pull a 12,000lb 5vr & you can hear it a little more when pulling a long steep hill.

I had the Banks Monster exhaust on my 01 & it was too loud & droned when towing.

I just installed a 4" single on my truck yesterday. So far, I can say it is louder/deeper toned with the windows down, but it's not too much more with the windows up. I have about 100 miles on it since installed, and it's already background noise to me. I haven't towed with it yet, so we'll see about drone. It really does sound good to me.

BTW, install was super easy and everything fit very well. The only thing I did differently was to use band clamps instead of the supplied u-bolt clamps.

I have the MBRP system on my 01. 5

However, I only had the muffler on for like a week.

On my truck couldn't even tell it was on there. Very quiet. Only noticed if you outside the truck and you romped on it. Couldn't tell the difference on the inside.

I have straight pipe now and really like it. Can really hear it now!

Which model did you install and what came with the muffler??

Thanks.

Call Mark Craig at DPPI 1-866-455-7788 he will set you up with the right parts. You get the muffler & off set pipe to just bolt her right up. He has tips also, but I already had a MBRP tip I bought locally.

Real good people to deal with.

I just put the MBRP 5" on my 12 valve. Sounds good and the drone I had with the Diamond Eye 4" is gone. Little bit quieter but I did install the muffler this time. I also used band clamps instead of the u-bolt clamps that came with it.

i have the 4inch full cat back and i like it . it wasnt loud until i lost my cat but it is mot much louder than stock if u leave the cat on. .

I just put an MBRP muffler in last week and my kitty ran away. Yes, it's louder in the cab. Not a lot, but it is louder. It has a nice throaty sound. I missed the sound of my 91, so I wanted a little more sound. It's quiet at idle as well as if you have a light right foot. If you get on it, people will know. I am very happy. Many thanks to the guys at DPP.

I have the MBRP , bought it from Craig.

The 4" is the way to go if your not going to do lots of bombing and just want a much better than replacement.

If you want to closer to stock sounding , MBRP sells additional resonators to cut into the long pipe, between the down pipe and the muffler.

I like mine as is, just the muffler. You hear alot more of the turbo and engine. While some say they hear "drones" in there's , I hear strong tones at points the engine is working harder, and more turbo.

I notice it's a bit louder in the cab around town. Highway, no difference.

The install is a cake walk.

Need at least a sawsall to get the old system out. I found a grinder/cut off wheel to work best on cutting the old hangers off the old pipes.

The longest part of the work, is getting the old system out.

The new system slides in real easy.

Before you do a final tightening of the clamps, take your time and make sure everything hangs as you want it to. Then cinch everything down.

It'll be a year in a few days since I wrote the post below, so the system has been in a year. I've had no issues with. It cleans up nice as well.

Spend the extra ~$100 bucks on the 304 system.

Here's my "install and after the install" post.

I would go with the MBRP high flow muffler setup. Since you are leaving the cat on it will not be to loud at all, but it will still have a really good sound to the truck. MBRP's part # is MK96116.

I just installed the MBRP duals and the cat back kit on my 05 along with a gutted kitty. The drone under load is unbearable to the point that a big straight through truck muffler is going in tight to the down pipe instead of the kitty.

Did you see any lower EGT temps with the MBRP muffler?

Is there really any performance or longevity gains from installing another 4" exhaust? isn't the factory stuff 4"? I will most likely install either a turbo back or cat back system, but just wanted to know if there is any gains from installing another 4" system? What about going up to 5", any proven gains there in either power or lower EGT's?

I know you asked about a single but I ran the MBRP 4" duals on my 04' for two years absolutley no problems. They sounded good not to loud but there was no kitty. I have an 06' now and probably install the same exhaust but I think I'll have to wack the cat and put a test pipe in so if they ever require an emissions inspection here on deisels I can put it back on. The whole idea of the cat makes no sense to me!

stock is about 3".

5" is good for about 500rwhp and up.

Some say too little back pressure on a stock or lightly bombed engine, so 4" is best for most.

The 4" installs easy and it will look a whole lot larger than the stock when you go to slide it in.
