Hello to the board!

I installed a #5 TST and an AFC spring kit the other day on my 94' 2WD, WOW! #ad
#ad

The stock clutch has had it! #ad
(85KM)

I would like to know where to get a McCloud twin disk street clutch. Much Bombing to come and I would like to know the clutch will hold what ever I dream up.

So who has them and for the least $$$?

I am also looking to install a G. V. splitter and need a dealer on that to.

Thanks much.
Andrew

Andrew, I got my clutch from Friction Materials in Eugene. Very good price. I'm laying down the horsepower alot and this clutch holds great, its not the duel disk, but it holds.

Brian, what brand of clutch did you get and what kind of price did it have? Has anyone checked into the new South Bend clutch yet? It sounds like a good item, Kevlar facing and a sprung hub. I don't know what kind of pressure plate they are using though. BTW McLeod is the correct spelling. I used to add an extra C to it also.

BlownRat, I bought my McLeod dual disk from Dave Mitchell, although you are too far away to fully enjoy the benefits from buying from them, you may enjoy their competitive pricing on this product.
Brian, (Holcomb) I talked to Andy at South Bend Clutch and they sound like they have a great clutch. It was my understanding that they (the clutch) can handle a little over stock performance, but not a "hot" BOMBed Cummins. It is their desire to produce the smoothest clutch out there rather than concentrating their efforts on making high performance clutch assemblies. Hope this helps.

Well I guess that blows another lead. BlownRat, you should talk to Joe D. before you buy the McLeod. He also has an awesome clutch. You know if it will hold his truck it will hold almost anything.
I will be buying one when I get a few less projects going.

My Mcleod with the street disk has only lasted 4 months and is doing the slip thing. I hav hooked to the sled 2 times and ran three mudbogs with this clutch. I'm rebuilding it now for the next race in two weeks. This is starting to get costly. They are working on a solid steel disk set up that I will go with when it comes out. Call Dave Mitchell. I drove the solid steel in his company truck and it was fine on the street for me. I put about 200 miles on his truck and did some parking lots and slow backing with it. This was the clutch that he took out of the white monster and stuck it right into the company truck. They are working on the solid steel disks for the Mcleod as we speak. They won't be ready in time for my next race so I have to rebuild the one I have for now. The steel clutches that he runs are 1 of a kind that he has built by a clutch builder for the tractor pull tractors. They will hold the horsepower! They did say that the exstream horse power crowd that races won't hold with the street mcleod clutch.

Thanks for the info guys. #ad
That’s another word I cannot spell! It appears I get more education than I bargained for. #ad
I talked with Ted Jannetty and his opinion is the centerforce dual friction for my application, pulling light (15K CGVW). I think I will end up with about 300-330 HP and what ever torque is along for the ride. I do not dragrace, bog or pull sleds as I cannot afford to do that with my daily driver. I do move trailers and launch boats with the truck so I would like to duplicate the stock clutch’s controlled slip, but still hold the power. Does anybody have other ideas? Joe D, your name always comes up. What clutch do you recommend?

Thanks
Andy

Andy, if your ever down in the Eugene area e-mail me, maybe we can meet up and I'll let you see how my clutch is.

That is about the same input I got from Dave Mitchell. He also said the CenterForce would hold in my use. IHe gave me a good price on it. Still letting it break in.
