I installed a Mcleod dual disc in my truck when the centerforce broke the center out. I noticed just in the last week that the clutch does not fully engage until I get nearly all the way off of the clutch pedal. It does start to engage with the pedal about an inch off of the floor. It does not slip even when standing on the throttle in overdrive at 1500 rpm and letting the boost hit about 43 psi or so. Has anyone seen there mcleod discs wear out very quickly or is this a "feature" and I shouldn't worry about it?

Steve

Forgot to mention - I installed the clutch march 31 this year and it has about 7,000 miles onit so far. About 500 miles towing a 13K pound trailer.

I wouldn't worry about it. I got one of their first clutches several years ago and notice the same peculiarity. I can pull 42lbs of boost and I tow heavy weight about 90% of the time. It seems to be most noticeable when I first start out. Either it goes away some or I just get used to it after driving for a while because it doesn't seem as noticeable as when I first start out. The newer ones have less pedal pressure than mine and this could make it more noticeable to you.

This clutch seems to work better the harder you use it. When empty there is a small amount of chatter when starting out. When loaded, the chatter disappears. The big plus is I have never had it chatter or buck when backing up a hill no matter how heavy the load. And it just NEVER slips.
