Rv tires

what are some of the steepest grades in N. America??

Next week or so will be packing up and hooking up and heading West.

Central Maryland to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Will be towing my 44' Pace Goose two car trailer. Going west will not be loaded but on the way back will be with a new HotRod project.

Any thoughts or advise on trip route and any highways to avoid? Was planning to head west on 70 and then out through Columbus, Indianapolis, St. Louis.

Looks like 1,100 miles one way and about 20 hours. :-laf

Went East that way a few years ago, only thing I didn't like was the 55 mph speed limit in Ohio, may be different now but one ton dually and above was 55. After you get on I-44 in Oklahoma you may want to stop for a break at the McDonalds that spans the interstate, quiet a view to sit atop the interstate and have a coffee. bg

Th the route you mentioned is a good one and the most direct and fastest. Must have traveled that way 50 times in recent years. BG is right about OH. Speed limit will be 55. Likewise in IL but in MO it will be 70 and on the Okie Turnpike from Joplin to OKC the speed limit is 75 but you can run 79 loaded or unloaded, trailer or no trailer.

I hadn't thought of the US map in such poetic terms but have to say I agree with that analysis.

In 400,000 miles of crisscrossing the US as an RV transporter I used my Transfer Flow aux fuel tank to make sure I never bought a single gallon of diesel fuel in those dumocrap sewers or in any other dumocrap state if I could possibly avoid it.

We took I-70 west to east in the last 3 days, currently in Penn off of I-70, all the States you mentioned are 65 MPH, except where road construction is taking place, I prefer 60 MPH towing, +- a few

Thanks for the insights! :D

Looking at maps, it seems coming from Central Maryland, this is the fastest route. Would like to leave Friday lunchtime and drive for 8 hours and then catch a nap at a hotel. Saturday put the miles in and be in the destination area Saturday evening. Early pickup Sunday and then back on the road.

Going to change the oil, trans fluid. Put a new 2mic fuel filter on and should be good to go after a once over and lug trq check and tire psi's. :-laf
