Can anyone recommend a good diesel mechanic in the Stockton/Modesto (CA) area? My neighbor was in the business for many years, but his skills with CR seem to be a bit lacking. He's old school. My 2006 is experiencing some power loss issues at cruise rpms and I am trying to figure things out.
I've changed the FCA and cascade overflow valve, run some injector cleaner, changed fuel filter, checked valve adjustment, and still I get a slight misfire at 1800-2000 rpm. The truck only has 47K miles on it and hasn't been abused. I feel a seat of the pants hesitation sensation when cruising at 55-70 mph. Maybe the transmission? The ECM doesn't show any trouble codes, though my scanner doesn't see all the systems (AutoXRay EZ-Scan 4000).
Next step is a mechanic who will listen and troubleshoot without DTC's showing.
Thanks!
