What is the best option for fuel pressure gauges, mechanical or electric? I've been mulling this over for quite some time. I want reliability and don't want to run fuel into the cab, so I would have to use an isolator if i go mechanical. I heard the isolators are not to reliable. Right now i have ISSPRO boost and EGT gauges.

I had a mechanical gauge and I hated it. The gauge was always rattling and making noise I did not have an isolator so I believe it was very accurate but it was very annoying, so I switched to a electric when I went to the edge juice.

I have been running a Dakota digital fo psi gauge for 5 yrs with zero problems. Just ensure you put a needle valve before the sender to reduced the pulsations from the pump and mount the sender on the engine not the firewall so the vibrations don kill it and it will work like a champ.

I have a Westech (SP?) that is an elect unit... it's failed at least 3 times that I can remember... the sender is a POS... In my opinion...

And I'm using two sending units for my dual Westach fuel pressure gauge with zero failures in 88,000+ miles. Go figure.

It seems the electric is the way to go. I'm thinking of going with the autometer Z series because the come close to matching the ISSPRO gauges i currently have. Does anyone have any experience with these gauges?

An alternative to this is to simply use a dampened (fluid filled) gage. This is what I finally ended up doing after ruining a regular mechanical gage. ;) Also 1/8", or is it 1/4", grease gun hose has the correct size pipe thread fittings on it to mount between your gage/isolator/sending unit to protect it from vibrations.
