I thought this was a very interesting story. It's hard to be a shop owner (dealer or independent). As much as we sometimes complain about them, most of the time these guys time manage to provide a good service to most people despite being treated like absolute trash.

I feel his pain but he is lucky that they didn't press charges against him.

I was shorted some owed commissions from a company I left. I thought long and hard about some kind of retaliation but two years later the company went out of business and the owners were out on the street looking for a job.

They had run Daddy's busines of 25+ years into the ground.

That was good enough for me. :)

Hey... . I would have thought of it kind of like Reposession. You don't pay your car payment... . guess what... you loose the car. Don't pay the bill... . Well $650... . Tires are pretty cheep but the top would get the price up to around that... .

Sounds like a good plan to me!

I like the way that man thinks! I'd probably do the same. If I lived in his area, and coudln't do my own work... I know exactly where I would be taking my vehicles!

one thing if i ever open my own shop of some sort, i will spend a good amount of $$$ having a very secure lot where ones velicle will be caged inside 10' heavy chain link with razor wire on top, and tire shreaders at the exit and video cameras...

just like everything else in my life, someone F's me over, i will F them over 10 fold... [you steal $10 from me, i will make sure you manage to drop $100 somehow]

much easier to stay on my good side [where i will lend you $10 and not really worry about repayment]

There's an excellent plot of land for just such a shop not far from me! :D
