Media: "..Is there blood on Bush's hands for 9/11.."

I don't know about you guys, but as of last night it seems to me that the national media wants to lay the blame for 9/11 at Bush's feet, basically saying he has blood on his hands becuase he had knowledge of possible hijacking threats prior to 9/11.



If this is not the hight of Monday Morning Quarterbacking, I don't know what is. There are two Bimbos on the Boston morning talk radio basically (in not so many words) blaming Bush for the attack, especially one leftist b*tch who I can only imagine is frothing at the mouth this morning.



I am sure that the leftist media and Dems will play this out for all its worth and try to paint Bush as some evil uncaring ogar. I'll be waiting for Dashel or the Grand-wizzard from West Virginia to call for investigations into "what Bush knew and when did he know it!". Then there will be a call for impeachment. The Liberals are probably going into orgasm mode right now.

As for me, I don't care one way or the other what happens to Bush ... I voted for him in 2000, but won't be in 2004 due to his betrayal of the 1st Amendment by signing the CFR garbage. (If he will sell out on the 1st Amendment, he'll sell us all out on the remainder of the Bill of Rights if necessary). What a blood sport politics is ... sheeeeesh.

The question, then, is also: "Is there blood on Clinton's hands for Sept 11?



I am sure the president gets briefed regularly that some faction here or there, or some rumor of an attempted act somewhere in the world by someone, is trying to do something. That's the nature of intelligence.



It was outside the scope of anything in conventional wisdom, that 4 - 8 groups of people would, on the same day, nearly at the same hour, coordinate hijackings to make flying missiles of death of themselves.



Although the possibility had been thought of (I even know an ex-military man who studied and reported the possibility of this happening more than 20 years ago), the concept itself WAS foreign to us. Presidents, including Clinton and Bush and Bush and Reagan and Carter (and this goes on), got briefings of non- and some times very- specific threats, yet often have had little to no ability to deal with it, since knowledge is surely limited.



Please note the large number of "alerts" there have been already, yet nothing has happened, no large number of arrests, etc, etc.

Now that the dust has settled, the media will have a frenzy pointing fingers at our leaders for this whole thing. I just read the article on iwon.com about this. What the media conveniently forgets to tell us is that the feds receive warnings of terrorism almost daily. If there is enough "government intelligence" to be able to warn us of possible attack, then there should be enough to let us know where these people hide, convene, train and plan. In a certain sense, I feel sorry for Bush and his team because it happened to him. They have to deal with all the regular issues, plus this major disasterous event that has changed to world. If it had happened to a dem in office, the repubs would have had a hay day with it as well. I didn't vote in 2000, I thought they all stunk! Do you all think Gore would have done a better/different job? I'm not sure, but I do approve of most every action taken since 9/11 other than the war on terrorism seems to be dragging some. Guess I'm just impatient.

I guarantee you what did NOT take place when Bush was briefed. The CIA or FBI did NOT say, "OK, Mr. President, on Sept. 11, Mohammad Atta and another 15 Arab Murderers are going to fly passenger planes into the World Trade Center. Do you want us to stop it or let it happen so you can be more popular?"



Every day the President gets briefed on MANY potential problems. To blame Bush for Sept. 11 is the most arrogant, idiotic, evil thing I can think of.



PSYCHPATHIC ARAB MURDERERS, including BinLaden, are responsible for 9-11. The sooner they are removed from the planet and sent to their murderous god Allah, the better.

Listening to the news all day, the media and the Dems are set up to start another "Watergate" investigation.



Gepfart, is demanding House hearings now and when asked if he believed that the info given to Bush prior to 9/11 could have prevented the attacks ... he says "I'm not sure, thats what we will have to find out. "



Man, what a sleezy hatefull partisen he is. We will be here "eating our own" chasing a white elephant, while our troops are in the field fighting the war, all so little Dick can get the gavel back in November.



I feel that the GOP is going to be toast this fall and Bush will be a lame duck for his remaining 2 years. Sad.

Bush certainly is not to blame, and finding someone to blame this on is really not the point. However, someone did get caught with their shorts down.



I really feel that they (CIA, FBI, NSA, etc) collectively had enough knowledge to figure out something was going down. Problem is no one put it all together for whatever reason (politics, not playing on the same team, information hoarding, empire building, maybe information overload and they couldn't get through it all)



- The FBI and FAA folks raising the flag about arabs taking commercial flying lessons.



- WTC already a known target



- Known actions of suicide bombers (Kamakizi's forgotten way too soon it seems)



- Well known possibility of flying jets into targets (clancy wrote about it, agencies have mulled the possibilities for years).



- Airline stocks sold short days before it happened.



Yep, it is easy to step back and put it all together now. But folks, this is what these guys are PAID to do all day long. And, this is a very short list of what came out after the attack. Imagine the data they have that we are not being told.



Airline stocks being sold short in record numbers alone should have heightened awareness, though perhaps not enough to matter prior to the attacks.



Can't really blame anyone, the information was there no doubt. Why we couldn't figure it out, not who is at fault, should be the focus of all these efforts. I can dream at least, eh?

The 9-11 event is a product of our own ignorance and vulnerability. Just like Pearl Harbor, it couldn't happen. Our own policies in all kinds of agnencies led us to believe that the enemy would only attack us on foreign ground. No one ever imagined (although many believed) that it could happen here, using one of our own domestic flights as an example. The warning signs of September 11 were everywhere, I just think we choose not beleive them. Bad choice. Sometimes waking up to reality is ugly. you can't blame Bush for what happened any more than you can blame the system that made it easy for it to happen.

How many times in the past have people warned of upcoming "possible" attacks/dangers and been ignored?



Every one of us knows that if on september 1st Bush stated that he "thought" there might be attacks on the US and from now on we were going to spend tons of $$$ on increased security,etc...

Give me a break, this is just another Blame game. I am sure that Bush did not know any particulars in the 9/11 attacks. He probably heard the same thing that every president heard for the last 20 years + . It probably went something like this" Mr President, we have reason and inteligence to believe that a airline highjacking may take place somewhere in the next 2-6 months". Now how do you take action on this? The only thing he could have done different is go to a higher alert at airports. Which would have been ignored by the low paid security agencys anyway.



We were riding high and stupid before 9/11, thinking that a attack on our country was impossible if not improbable. We were taught a deadly lesson. I don't think we have the best helmets, just the thickest skulls!



To blame all your problems in goverment on the Dems or liberals is a perfect example of how thick they are... ..... We have to have the balance of right and left, or we can't stay on the road.

Can you imagine allowing up to 50,000 people (potential occupancy of the towers) to deliberately be put in harm's way. I've heard of physician assisted suicide, but the Dems are way beyond that point now. What if he would have rounded up all Arab students taking flight lessons and deported them?
