Recently bought a new mega cab, love the truck hate the bed, i would like to use my B&W Companion hitch but i am not sure if thats the best idea or not. Should i go to a gooseneck adapter?, slider? not sure. Any insight on this topic i would appericate it.

I had a pull right slider on my 2000 short bed - wouldn't go with anything else. The fact that it was automatic removed the dependency upon my brain working... :-laf

Now if you need a gooseneck only, then you might be ok depending on the trailer design (how narrow in the front).

I have the PullRite with the Super Rail Bracket for my long bed, which I really like. I've heard great things about the PullRite Auto Slider for a short bed.

Why not? clearance concerns? Fit? If in doubt, call B & W. be sure to post results.

OK called B&W today and i was given info that i already knew, like where the gooseneck would be installed in my truck, NO-HELP darn. Ok now i was looking at a kingpin extension any ideas. Really would like to get my B&W Turn -Over in the truck but i hate to spend the money and then have to get a slider. And the pull-rights sound like they would work but i am not wanting to get a 2nd Mortgage to pay for it:-laf, But then again i just might have to.

Check out Sidewinder 5th airborne.

BTW... . I use a 14K Superglide on my Mega. It's not perfect but works well.

Do a quick search on craigs list, ebay, etc... I bet with todays fuel prices you can find a used one at a reasonable price.

I have the 24K Superglide by PullRite in my Mega. Works great and is safe. But it is very very heavy to remove.

Sure would be cool if some company made a goose neck/fifth combo that worked as a slider while doing the fiver mode; then normal for the goose mode.

Ok, think I found my anwser to the question I was asking, This weekend went to a BBQ up in the mountians (couldn't pull my Trailer:mad:) everyone pulls there trailer up for the weekend, here came a mega cab with a 36' whipping around like he dosen't even care about the back of the cab. So had to go check it out, and there sat a B&W Companion in it's farthest position away from the Ball and no extension on the king pin, measured his kingpin back to his front cone on his trailer and would you know on my trailer I have almost

5" more clearence on my trailer. So the anwser is the B&W Companion on a Mega Cab will work fine. Will Post when I Actully hook up and will post pictures. Thanks for all the great info.

Just make sure you test that 90 deg. really slow. . it all depends on how much the pin box extends from the nose cap/front of trailer.

my BIL has a B&W. . I did not know you could mount it further back... so you are not over the axle then?

Any updates?

Pulled a 31 foot 5th wheel since 2003 with a reese slider. First in my quad cab SB, then with the Mega cab. No problems at all. moving the slide was not much of a problem and really only needed it inside a camp ground or whilr backing up... . Just my 2 cents.
