Arifleet has this listing:

(ETH+WLA) Diesel DRW has a Job #1 of 1/2/06 (Mega Cab SB)

Sounds like Dodge might just make a smaller DRW fender to fit the Mega Cab cab/box dimensions... this could be interesting...

Should be interesting , Ford has a short bed dually option.

Though rare i have seen a 2 so far .

Wow Terry, your first post in almost a year and I spotted it this morning. How's it going? Are you putting a couple miles on that 3rd gen? Just wanted to say hi! Sorry for the thread hijack :D

shortbed+dually=pointless.

I actually think megacab+same GVWR as QC+extra weight of megacab= pointless.

Who the hell wants a 3/4 or 1 ton truck with only a 1500* or so payload? I think it's a great idea for them to make a dually and still have the shortbed.

IF they come out with a dually fender for the short bed I will be converting my 04 to a dually. I love dually's! Would have gotten one last year if I had known I would be putting a truck camper on this year!!!

I've seen quite a few shortbed dually fords, including one that was traded in at the local dodge dealer :-laf

Have seen one in person, other in a Ford ad (mag. ).

Yes , I have seen two here in South Florida . Both are crew cabs though and they must be 99 - 03's because they are 7. 3's .

Also like to add that i have not seen any 6. 0 short bed DRW , might have been discontinued.

I have not seen a short bed dually in any other configuration other than a crew cab, no extended cabs or regular cabs for that matter.

I had heard about them, had my doubts and like Bigfoot they are elusive. :-laf

I will try to get a pic and post it.

There are quite a few 90s-vintage Ford regular cab short bed duallies here in the Houston area. Strange, stubby-looking beasts!

My last Ford was a short bed dually. I didn't have it long due to the POS 6. 0PSD. If it had a 7. 3 I reckon I'd still have it. The Ford short box is a little more than 1/2 foot longer than the Dodge and the wheelbase is 16" longer. That was as long of a truck as I wanted, I got the dually for the extra payload.

They are working on a 8' box mega-cab. There has been a few floating around the Chelsea Proving grounds from what my neighbor tells me. I also know they were cannonabilizing a few pre-pro mega cabs to see how the 8' box looked with it.

I sure hope your right, if your info is correct than I'll be holding out for a long bed model. I wish I had a long bed now, hind sight is always 20/20. If DCX doesn't build a Mega long bed than they are missing out on a gravy train of dollars. I agree with them starting out with short beds, as this is where the largest market is right now, but the 8' has got to be on it's way.
