Has anyone actually seen this in your area? I live in Huntsville, AL and haven't seen one. Searched all the way to Birmingham and Nashville. I just arrive in Colorado Springs and checked out there lot and there was nothing. We just had a baby and his darn carseat doesn't fit well in the old Quad. I have done a lot of work to my truck and it just about there and it is paid off. However, I am looking at possibly selling it just to start all over again.

If you have seen it what are your thoughts? I have the long bed now and that is one of the downsides for me with the new model. I am on the fence on this one.

Your thoughts?

One of the local dealers has 6 or 7 Megacabs. I'm sorta in the position you're in. My 96' ClubCab took alot of work to get it right. Then the baby showed up. The wife had to sit forward for the carseat to fit. The quadcab wasn't alot more room than my clubcab. The Megacab was very impressive. With the driver's seat all the way back and tilted it still couldn't touch the babies carseat. We placed a deposit today. Will take delivery when the buyer of my 12V takes delivery. I'll miss the longbed. I know the rumor is 07' Megacab will get the longbed. I'm not waiting around to see about what if.

There are (were) a couple at the local dealer here. I checked them out partially because I'm in your exact same situation. have you tried putting the baby seat in the middle with the arm rest folded down? It works in mine. I might consider buying a new baby seat before a new truck. It's a lot cheeper (about $20,000 cheaper).

Middle of the back seat is where we put our rear facing child seat. Did that with my first daughter. We bought the Dodge quad cab specifically because we had a child on the way - child seat fit better in that than in my wifes Jeep Wrangler :D . Now my oldest (5) sits on the right in a booster seat and the little one (5 weeks) sits in the middle in the rear facing seat. No problem with room.

the dealer in Mckinney Texas haas three. My wife wants me to get one, but I have my truck the way I want it so i have not made up my mind. They are super nice though.

The older club cabs accually have 6 inches more room in the back b/c of no airbag in the front. Just the ease of back doors for easy access.

I have not seen one new mega cab in the socal area, driving my a dodge dealer i saw one on the lot and I about puked at the new front end. You gotta do what you got to do but a shortbed diesel truck IMO is a waste of time.

Local dealer got one in and I went to look at it last weekend. It was a Laramie with every option including sunroof, just didn't have the DVD system. Incredible amount of room! I mean it is just huge. The rear doors are very wide and open as far as the '03-'06 Quad Cab doors, making entry and exit far easier than Ford or GM. A lot of space behind the seat, and the seats can fold down in a couple different configurations. I really liked the rear air vents as they were much larger than I thought they would be. Overall, I was very impressed and if you don't mind a shortbox, I say go for it.

The wife and I figured this out by surprise. We were test fitting new trucks this last weekend. The Quad definitely has less front passenger room than my 96' Clubcab.

I saw one in person this weekend. Personally, the new front end is growing on me. From a distance I think its a sharp looking truck. I wouldn't mind having the extra room but these bad-boys are going for $44k-$49k. The dealer said that he would knock a couple grand off (part of their "one instant price" campaign) but even then, that is WAAYYYYY too much $$$$ for me. Sure, I could probably afford it, but I wouldn't be able to sleep at night! :)

Thanks amsoil for making me almost throw my breakfast up. lol

It seems dodge is going more squared off just like ford did with the f-150 when they ruined that design. Chevy is next. WE will all look back in 10-15 years and ask what the heck was this all about... . Kind of like how we look back at cars from the 80s and puke.

stopped off at the dealer by my office the other day.

They had 2 megacabs. They are huge. I sat in the passenger seat (front) and slammed the seat all the way back, and tilted the back so that I was in a normal comfortable position. Exited the truck and went to the back. First of all, the back seat was in the reclining position (nice). Hit the lever to bring it up to normal and then took a seat.

HOLY CRAP!!!!

I had nearly 14-16 inches of room between my knees and the seat back in front of me (I'm 6'2"). Now I just need to convince the wife to trade in my paid off '03 for a $51k truck.
