No more dealing with sketchy Marketplace ECM dealers, Potentially?

thinking about he351ve in 5.9 engines

Kinda thinking about getting a Mega Cab with a Cummins. Have a 1999 2500 Cummins Quad Cab currently, would keep it around. We had a 2006 1500 Mega Cab for few years so we are familiar with the Mega Cab body. What would be the best years to look for or avoid in the Mega Cab run? My knee jerk reaction is to stay with the 5.9 powered models. Also would prefer to have a manual transmission. Not going to put a lot of miles on it. Won’t buy new either. I’m thinking stay away from the non DEF models?

Thanks!

Well if you don't want emissions and you want the 5.9 that limits you to 2006-2007.5.. then you want the manual trans so that further narrows it down....

Personally I would not be afraid of emissions or the 6.7, I'd be more afraid of a truck that has been misused or not taken care of properly.. FWIW, the Crew Cab 4th gens have alot more room in them than your 1999 Quad Cab or the 3rd gen Crew Cabs....

I've owned a 2006 5.9 mega and currently a 2016 6.7 mega. I can honestly say I would pick my 2016 6.7 all day every day over the 06 with the 5.9. It's more powerful, more comfortable, gets better mpg, it's drives better, it's just a better truck all around. Finding a manual mega is going to be difficult and you will pay very dearly for it... Unless you just like to shift like a big rig there really is no reason to go with the manual these days.
