Steering gear lock up

Line-X pricing, over the rails & rockers $675 - is this good?

Anyone notice on the megacab pictures that the selector switch for 4 wheel drive says 2WD 4Lock 4Lo. Anyone know what that means?

No, not all 4WD trucks are the same. Some are full time 4WD and others part time 4WD. Our rams are part time with front and rear differentials, but no axle differential. I wonder if in 4Lock the front and read diffs lock up. Would be nice for off roading, but crappy for driving in the snow.

I meant the dodge 4wd trucks are the same. is anything fulltime 4wd anymore, that is old school, awd or part time.

what do you mean by "but no axle differential"? no locking diff?

No, I mean no differential between the axles. Thats why it is part time and why we get the hop going around corners. AWD and full time 4wd are the same as far as I know.

awd and 4wd are not the same, awd has the ability to differentiate between the front and rear drive shafts, 4wd the shafts are effectively locked together.

AWD and Full time 4WD are effectively the same as far as I know. full time 4wd has a differential between the front and rear drive shafts allowing the vehicle to be driven on any type of surface. Part time 4wd has no differential and you get the hop when you turn because of it.

4LOCK = 4HI

Just a fancier word - as it applies to the new rams
