I have to say its not my favorite idea they've come up with, but i've seen worse. Ford had this setup for awhile, but I think it flopped. I guess only time will tell

On a side note, I really miss the fenders on my 93 and had hoped they would make an appearance the 3rd gens!

Dodge has a chance to blast ford/chevy and they choke. Must have 8'! I wish they had a 10' bed. For those of us that haul, have an aux. fuel tank and enough tools to rebuild a trailer can't use the 6' bed.

Ughhhhh

I'm (well) speechless . . . but, there's hope. Take off that fugly (did I say fugly?) bed, slap on a HD flatbed with a gooseneck setup and there you have it, a pretty slick Western hauler!

Where do I sign up?

That would make an AWESOME Wester Hauler!!

I have to disagree as most 5th wheel folks want the long bed so they can make sharper turns. Yeah, you can have a kludged slider hitch and mount the hitch behind the axle, but that's pretty lame especially for heavier trailers.

I like it... will be great for people with 5th wheels who don't need the extra bed for storing stuff.

I like the idea of a short bed. I pull a 32' 5th wheel with my short bed and a PullRite Super Glide hitch. Hitch is best thing since sliced bread. I can turn my truck 90 Degree to the front of the trailer. Hitch is slides all automatically. With the Mega Cab you get the huge interior space on the long bed for good ride and the pay load the dual wheels can carry. Great idea!

Are you guys sure somebody didn't build this. I think it looks aweful, but thats just my two cents. The megacab looks aweful to me anyway, although I would love to have the room. I guess this is what you get when they have guys who know nothing about trucks except how good their golf clubs fit in the back seat designing a working mans truck. (nothing against golfing, I like it myself). They should have a real guy in there who uses a truck every day to design these things. i have no doubt in my mind that I could design a far more awesome truck than Ford Chevy or Dodge ever has. And I bet a lot of you guys could too. How about keep the size of the mega cab, but extend the back door and do away wth that big a** cab corner. Then have a factory 500 hp twin turbo CTD that runs cool with a 6 speed and splitter behind it. Factory boost and pyro guages, 22. 5" wheels for the duallies and airride suspension. I could go on and on, but that sounds like an good start. And price them for $30,000 for a 4wd laramie :D . But, then that would take the fun out of what we do, now wouldn't it. :-laf

The first thing I thought of was my 93 whenI saw that. I think it looks goofy, but functionally i think it will sell big! Come on, big cabin, stoutness of a dually, and your 16 can park it? And, I have to agree, flat bed that sucker and I would be all in! Just think - wide flat bed and cover up that goofy looking cab with 6" stacks! :D

BTW - Legger, That is a beautiful truck! I love it! I miss mine! Never should have sold that dam thing . . . . . .

that would be the only way I would like to see these!! the bed length is ok for those who tow.

it's a butter bed (everything looks good but her bed!!) :-laf

I gotta disagree with the flat bed thing. A flat bed, 8 feet wide and 6 feet long would look even "more goofy" than whats on there now.

Since they had to make new stampings for those motorcycle fenders, they should have just stamped a curvy one-piece bedside for the dually, not add-ons.

Same thing for the long bed dually.

And make them look like the stepside beds.

not a flat bed but a hauler something like what heron makes. not very useful for much but hauling but the factory bed isn't either so might as well have good looks!!

Quick fix

I was thinking on this today and figured that Dodge wanted to get a mega cab dually on the market and desinged these fenders as a quick way to get-r-done. Since there have been sightings of the long bed mega cab from members in the past few days I would have to speculate that they are testing the 4500/5500 series and will use that frame for the new mega cab long bed dually. At that time they will use the normal fenders and might discontinue the sortbed dually. Just speculation. Who knows. I figure these fenders should be cheaper to buy than the big ones for those who would like to convert to a dually.

I like it. Its one of those looks good but not that functional kind of thing.

I think the mega-cab looks better in this config than a SRW. I don't care for the big cab for me but this one is more easy on the eye.
