Customer Service

chat room has been working for 19 hours. Thanks!

It seems like there are another 100 members every week or so. I assume there is some attrition, but the joiners are overtaking the bailers. At this rate we'll be at 13-14K in another year .

I hope it just keeps on growing -- the mag and info here can only get better.

Keep it CUMMIN :D

Hey there, old-timer :). So when did the TDR start, both the magazine and the website?

If they started up on different dates, does a member's "Registered:" date (showing up in the Author column on threads) indicate when they joined the TDR in general or when they registered for the TDR Forum specifically?

I personally want to thank you "founding fathers" for this most valuable knowledge resource. If only there had been something like the TDR for every other vehicle I've owned!

I see the member count every time I go to the main Forum page in the upper left area of the page. Now it says:

"Registered Members: 8789"

And literally over the last couple of weeks has been going up by what I'd guess to be about 100/wk.

I'm sure the TDR owners will keep us happy and our postin' fast. The more members, the more income. The more income, the faster servers they can buy!

My first mag was #11 Winter '96 so I'm no founder. However, I know some that are. I think the first mag was in '93. My first letter to the mag was in #13 and it concerned the automatic steps I have on my truck.

The registered date is when the person signed up for the web site. The earliest is Aug '99 when we transferred from Rob Spading's old site.

I began reading the website and then signed up in early Dec 99. We had some technical difficulties, so my account didn't reflect that date later on.

There was a few over one thousand when I joined up and it took quite a while to get from 1000 to 2000. It took even longer to get that first 1000.

The website originally was little more than a clearinghouse for technical data at first, but now it has become a major social gathering as well. I think that's good. Many new friends have been made because of TDR, and there is honestly, far too few friends left in this world.

Keep it up guys... . I'm sure it can be even better.

Old Timer?

Paid my $35. about a week after I bought my '94 CTD in August. Dealer in Decatur Texas had a flyer on the wall.

I remember sending congratulations to Rob when the count hit 300. I wondered at the time if maybe someday we could have 1000 members. Believe it or not, at one time I read every single post. Took about 20-30 minutes a day.

Current Members

The first issue was distributed in Fall of 1993 (Issue 1) and was mailed to about 626 subscribers. Two and a half years later, the subscription base had finally reached 4,000 and what was already a full-time job became one that needed a true full-time staff. I was fortunate to be able to leave Cummins South to attend to the magazine full time at that time.

The web site was added about two years ago when we purchased it from the original owner, Rob Spading. At that time, we could hardly turn on a computer, and Rob was instrumental in getting this web site rolling.

We're currently working on Issue 34 (due out in November, 2001), and it has been a fun 8 1/2 years. Thanks for asking!
