I went a different route, got a compact CB at TA and installed to the dash pan.
I can actually flip the mic cord where it doesn't rub my leg. Have one in my Jeep too mounted on the side of the console.
Added: Don't forget the all time favorite CB movie Smokey and the Bandit. East bound and down, rolling on and truck'n....
