I know it's late and when I'm done with this post it probably won't even be Memorial Day anymore but I thought the Forum would enjoy them anyway.
I just recently learned how to post pictures so here goes! I have 20 years in the USCG and NO money in the bank. But I do have a few pictures...

This is the first pic of in-flight helo refueling. The hose is on it's way up.
#ad
This is a 'cu' (close up) of the flight mechanic connecting the fuel hose...
#ad
Now we've moved to 'VERTREP' or Verticle Replenishment. The pilot can hook the cargo net under the helo and let it dangle below with anything under 2500lbs as cargo...
#ad
Here, they've just hooked the loop from the cargo net to the helocopter. When everybody's clear it'll try to fly away with it. I say try 'cause the only helo I'm friends with is the H60. The H65 in these pics hates being a helocopter, doesn't like to fly and pretty much is "50,000 loose parts, flying in a tight formation"...

Now I've move to piloting ships. This is us on approach to the USNS TIPPECANOE. I'm NOT making that up! My Cutter's name is USCGC CHASE out of San Diego, CA.

These guys and gals are called the "In Haul Line" and yes, they really are hauling in that fuel probe. This is in preparation for "Underway Replenishment" much the same as VERTREP only sideways. heh, heh, *ahem*

This is what UNREP looks like from the focsle looking aft. You can see some of my Cutter here. (the Navy has ships, 'USS' United States Ship; the CG has Cutters, 'USCGC' United States Coast Guard Cutter...
Welp, I hope these images don't make for too long of a down load. I have litterally thousands upon thousand of pictures... Which I won't subject to the TDR. Everybody would be saying: "oh no, there goes Ian again!... "
PEACE. Semper Paratus.
