My wife is coming over from the dark side and wants to trade in her Lexus on a MB E320 CDI. Figured it's better to get one before the 07 emissions. It is legal in 45 out of 50 states, but can't be sold in Kommifornia, Mass, NY, and a couple other bastions of communism.
It is a 3. 2L inline 6 with 210HP and around 369 ft lbs of torque. With a 5 speed auto 0-60 is 6. 6 seconds, and the top speed is limited at 130. EPA is 27 City/37 Highway, but road test articles I've read claim they've got 45mpg in the Texas hill country. Seems like a real solid engine and economy to rival the hybrids. And the diesel is only a $1000 upcharge over the base model.
Anybody know anything about it - good or bad?
