Ford Tractor Help

My wife is coming over from the dark side and wants to trade in her Lexus on a MB E320 CDI. Figured it's better to get one before the 07 emissions. It is legal in 45 out of 50 states, but can't be sold in Kommifornia, Mass, NY, and a couple other bastions of communism. :D

It is a 3. 2L inline 6 with 210HP and around 369 ft lbs of torque. With a 5 speed auto 0-60 is 6. 6 seconds, and the top speed is limited at 130. EPA is 27 City/37 Highway, but road test articles I've read claim they've got 45mpg in the Texas hill country. Seems like a real solid engine and economy to rival the hybrids. And the diesel is only a $1000 upcharge over the base model.

Anybody know anything about it - good or bad?

My parents have an '05 CDI with the inline-6. It goes like stink! It is really fast and very quiet.

They really like the car but just had to have new brake rotors put on the front. My father is currently battling with M-B on their replacement since it has only 13K on it.

Investigate Mercedes European Delivery program. My parents thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

His fuel economy has been as high as 38 mpg on the highway coming home from Chicago.

On a trip out to Utah 2 weekends ago, on I70, in the middle of NOWHERE I saw a mean lookin black E320 CDI fly past me at well over 110mph :--) , with a big trail of black smoke behind it..... Im not sure what was done to it obviously, all I know is that she was movin faster than any other diesel Benz Ive ever seen

I've been doing some research and for 2007 they are replacing the inline 6 with an all aluminum V6 that puts out about 20 more horses, along with all the 07 emissions BS.

Better buy now - after all the recycled beer can jokes I made about the Duramax I couldn't be seen owning a recycled Lagermeister can motor! :-laf

Out of 100 mercedes we have 99 diesels here in Europe. Although quality isn't what it was in the early 90's, normally they are bulletproof cars.

After 7 mercedes, my father now has is second BMW, the new 7 series 730D. 227HP nicest and most comfortable car I have ever driven. So quiet and very fast.

One passed me in traffic the other day... ... . you couldn't even tell it was a diesel unless you listened for the turbo whistle.

Sorry I have no experience with them, but I have been eyeing them alot lately. Very nice car, I may have the wife talked into one.
