Hood Mats - Message for EOwen

EOwen, hope you're listening, in your gallery in Reader's Rigs, you show a "production intent" hoodliner, and mention you might be able to get some made. What's the chance of getting that together? How many other folks here would like to have one? Price would be?

Hood liner

I am listening.



I obtained this "production intent" sound absorbing hood liner from the actual acoustics supplier that tooled this part.

My company was doing some testing at their facility and I stumbled across the part and they let me have one.

The part was cancelled by DC before the 2002 1500 went into production (I believe). I think it may have originally been geared towards the Hemi or non-diesel applications since it has the

"Magnum" name molded into the part, but maybe it has different

inserts for different names. There are alot of politics involved with obtaining these parts. My company is a competitor yet a supplier to this company. If I sell them on the side, it would be construed as moonlighting or a "conflict of interest" without proper agreements etc.

I tell you what, you keep polling and proding and if there is enough interest, I would be willing to go through the proper channels to make this legitament. In the meantime, I need to get a rough idea of what people are willing to pay. ($50-100?)

The Genos idea is a good one. They'd have better clout (could set up an account) & you wouldn't be involved in the politics/hassle of parts orders.

Count me in. The pad would sure help cleaning the engine compartment - you need a ladder and long arms, or a wash mitt on a stick to wash the underside of the hood. With the pad you can hose it off and wash around the edge.



Now - how about an underhood light??

I just posted the picture in hopes of someone being interested

someday. Thanks to John for pushing the issue.

I will be in contact with the supplier today or tomorrow to see what we can get setup.
