I had my ATS transmission serviced for the first time, last week, by the local shop that installed the trans. They are a reputable, local shop. The trans had 8 months and 14,653 miles on it since being installed. The guys at the shop called me and said they thought I had a trans that was coming apart.

What do you guys think? I have contacted ATS and sent them these pictures and am awaiting a response.

That really doesn't look any worse then a first time drain on a stock trany. I would not be to woried at this time.

AWray;

Had my transmission rebuilt & upgraded at ATS two years ago. First check I had very little in the filter.

This was 1 year, but only about 6K miles. I'm due for my next now. Will let you know how thart comes out.

I think that is perfectly normal for the first change since new. All the parts have to wear in and little bits of "fuzz" show up in the process.

That's after 14K+ miles? If you had a problem that filter would be covered with metal and strange noises would be showing up.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it.

When my trans was rebuilt by Dodge (yeah, I know, should have known better) it had both brass and aluminum filings/chips etc. at the first oil change. Dodge told me it was normal. I contacted Bill K of DTT. Bill K, stated that brass in the Dodge transmissions is fairly normal, but aluminum is another matter. The color of the material in the pics appears to be aluminum. I'm sure ATS will have no issue if the trans is having problems. My trans seized 47miles after the dealer told me all was well. Go figure.

I got a call back from ATS and they said the amount was within the normal range. If it tanks before the next change, at least I have documented things. I hope not, this trans is bad a$$!

Ats Transmission

:( I had a lot of debris when I had mine serviced at 15,000 & 30,000. miles

I talkedto them at ats and they said to keep and eye on it. I had it serviced at the dodge agency and I dont have much faith in them I think they willsay anything in hopes that you will let them sell you a new transmission. I am going to have it serviced at a shop that installs ats transmissions next time and I am going to have it serviced at 10,000 miles this time.

I will have to say that it has been doing me a good job. I pull a heavy 5th wh
