Major Breakthrough in Electric about to happen - I understand...

newer engines??

Popeye's on base has agreed to give me their waste oil. I am having a heck of a time finding a metal storage tank to hold waste oil. it needs to be at least 150 gallons, preferably 250 gallons. I can find a few on the net but the tanks are $750 and the shipping is almost $500. I have tried the farm and ranch stores here in town and searched the web for stuff in El Paso which I'm sure somebody makes metal tanks, they just arent on the net or easy to find.

I can get a 250 gallon Poly tank which I think will handle the temp they poor the oil in at (250F) but when it gets colder it will be harder for me to heat the oil to siphon it out. Anyone have any thoughts? TIA

So, they won't go with metal 55 gal. drums? I've seen on the GSA web site, single axel mil. surplus tanks of the size you're interested in.

Cool thing about a trailer, is you could take it home to empty. Course, you'd have to pull a wheel, or chain (or both) to keep someone else form doing the same.

Good luck.

Another thought, old propane tank, 250gal is a common size, have to purge it with water or some ineart gas, then cut in a bung, but old ones can sometimes be had cheap.

his sugestion on old propane tanks is good nearly any dealer has them , the older ones can not be recertified for use ,our supplier has given me several 500 gallon ones an other source for tanks is oil companies , i can get any size tank i want from free to scrap metal price , i picked up a 12,000 gallon on skids and a 6,000 under ground tank for free the 12,000 one had 2,000+ gallons of jet fuel in it when i picked it up it has no lube in it so we filtered some used atf and blended it and 2,000 gallons of diesel. dealers near you are united, brewer, and ray bell probably more but those are some i have used , you do not need anything fancy for the underground tank we just poured some flat piers set the tank on them and wedged it in with a couple of boards, dry iced it welded a fitting on it cut the center out and screwed a valve on and rotate the tank back to center there was about a foot of regular in the tank i just rotated it enough to not let the fuel run out when i cut the hole with the welder
